Since there seem to be a lot of Kontera related questions, I've asked someone from the their team to come answer questions in our forum for the next day or two. They'll be able to provide more in depth and accurate responses than I can acting as an intermediary.
So if you have any Kontera questions this your opportunity to get them answered. Fire away right here in this thread.
This is to inquire from Kontera Personnel if it is possible to get an affiliate ID (if this is what it is called) ? the tag or code sent for copying into the html of the webpage seemingly is much more difficult to work with, since we do not deal with html in hubpages creation or editing. Thank you.
I'm going to ask my latest questions on this thread as well; I hope you guys don't mind. Maybe the Kontera person will have more insight.
The link density is part of the optimization process to find the right balance between the size of the page and the number of linked KWs per page. We do have parameters in place to help with the spacing, and upon your recommendation, we can increase or decrease the density from what it's originally set at. Simply write into support@kontera.com and ask that the number of links be decreased for your account. These requests are usually done within 24 hours but sometimes if the request is made late in the week, depending on the number of requests in the queue, it can take a few days.
All of the changes that are made are specific to each unique JS. We'll work to try and find the right balance for all HP tags so that regardless of which one you are using, the links should stay balanced to the HP specifications. It's not in our best interest, nor is it in the readers, to have too many links per page. The goal is find that balance of one, maybe two, links per paragraph that can allow a chance for monetization throughout the page, no matter what the page size.
There is an optimization process which is why I wanted to get this forum started, in most cases we ask that our publishers give us a few weeks to get things right, but with HP, we'll be working to find the optimal fit within the first few days.
Thanks Whitney,
Mike
Thanks Paul. I wanted to introduce myself and as we've started to see a number of you sign up for our ads, I'd like ot make sure there's a forum for you to get answers as quickly as possible. My name is Mike Glover and I've been with Kontera for the better part of a decade. I've been working on the publisher side to help bring contextually relevant revenue to 1000's of publishers over the years and I'm very excited at the opportunity to work with the HubPages team and all of their writers.
Please feel free to post questions here and I will do my best to get back to you in a timely fashion. Our goal is to make our product work in conjunction with the other ad offerings you have while giving your readers an easy way to gather more information from the content their interested in.
Thank you for wanting to work with us and please know that we will do what it takes to make this partnership a success.

Sir: I applied for Kontera Account and it has been 5 days. Still I haven't received any mail from them. When I try to log-in with the ID and Password, it says " Something went wrong........" . What is this ?
Dear Mr. Glover,
I am worried that if I start Kontera on a hubpage where Google Adsense also runs ( as they run on all automatically ) that I will have a problem with Google. There is a section in their rultes that prohibits ads from other companies on the same page as Adsense advertisements.
Can you clear this up for me?
Thank you,
Balimermaid
Hi Mike,
Is Kontera able to place links only in paragraphs that don't already contain regular links? I don't mind the text link ads, but when they appear next to regular links, it can sometimes make things look cluttered and overly commercial.....
Thanks,
Isabella
How it all works is that we'll scan the page to understand the tone/topics of the page. From there we will find the most contextually relevant KW on the page that matches the topic and that we have an advertiser for. We will never link a hyperlink but if our selection of KWs happens to be keyword that is next a linked word, we might still link it.
However, if you'd wish to exclude links from appearing within a specific paragraph or section of your page, we recommend that you use Zone Tags. Zone Tags are parameters that you can place within the HTML to tell our links where to appear and where not to appear. There should be a set of instructions for implementing zone tags within your welcome email, however if you did not receive one, I can pass it along.
Thanks Isabella,
Mike
At present, it's not possible for HubPages authors to program zone tags. The active zone goes from just below the title all the way to the end of the hub. However, if there is sufficient demand, we can add an option to toggle Kontera on or off on a capsule by capsule basis. More granularity than that will be difficult to implement, and I think potentially confusing.
We do our best to keep things simple so that you all can concentrate on producing great content.
Thank you, Mike.
This sounds perfect -- if you do that, I'll sign up for it.
I like this idea. I just signed up for Kontera myself and am not sure how to implement the link into my Hubpages.
It's really easy, you either turn Kontera on at the top of the screen when you are editing a hub, or you turn Kontera on (or off) for all your hubs at once on the affiliate settings page. We've got the individual capsule feature in our list of things to do, but I'm not sure when we'll get to it yet.
That'd be good.
Because I'd probably turn it off on my How To Hub hubs.
Darkside, you can already turn it on or off for individual hubs.
I think he is referring to it as he wants to have them on, but not to go throughout his whole hub. With the Capsule selecting he can put it on a small paragraph and the rest can be ad-free. I could be wrong, but thats how I understand it.
Ahhhh... no, I was talking about being able to turn it on or off for individual hubs. So we can do that!
Excellent.
All I have to do is to wait for my application to be approved. Which I submitted 2 days ago.
Darkside, we'll get you the tags tomorrow, if not later tonight, can you provide me with the URL or the email that you signed up with and approx what time you submitted so that I can track it down?
Mike
Thanks Mike.
I used this URL: http://hubpages.com/profile/darkside
It was around 8:18am (AEST) on 25th June.
I see that both JimmyTheJock and Darkside have been created and sent. Let me see what the story but from my reports, we're showing both accounts as active and waiting to go live.
Mike
Hi guys,
So for those that are waiting, please check your spam folders for an email from support@kontera.com. Jimmy and Darkside, I'm resending yours myself.
For others, please check the following URL and enter in your login information to make adjustments to your account.
Publishers.kontera.com
Thanks,
Mike
I have also signed contera and waiting for confirmation. Now my questions are:
1.How is it different from present google ads?
2.What is the benifit publishers get from it?
3. What is a text link ad?
1) How we are different from Google Ads is in the fact that instead of providing search results on the outer portion of the page, we're linking keywords within the body of the page, the content, and giving readers a chance to get more information if they so choose.
2) We have over 13,000 publishers who are currently working with us and I would say that each one of them, or probably closer to 95% of them, are using us in combination with AdSense. We're not here to replace adsense but rather provide additional options to the readers. The benefit here is that you can increase the overall value of your real estate without having to sacrifice current ad inventory and while keeping in line with providing your readers with the most contextually relevant ads possible.
3) Text Link Ads can best be described as the double-underlined KWs that advertisers have purchased on a CPC. Text Link Ads differ from traditional ads in that there's no 'creative' or no standard size to the advertisement, it's just a link.
I hope I've answered your questions here and if not, please let me know and I'll clarify. I sometimes forget that in-text is still a new idea to most and I don't want to assume that everyone is up to speed with what in-text can be.
Thanks,
Mike
Your not alone!, Just wait and watch the ride and you will soon be on board sailing through the process!
PS. Thanks Mike for helping, i have no questions just lots of thoughts, but im giving myself the advice i gave JYOTI:)
This might help.

Boy do I feel stupid. I wanted the demo link but it moves so fast I did not understand much of anything about it. I will keep reading all the posts and hopefully things will be a bit clearer.

I have a website as well as my hubpages account, would i be able to add kontera ads to my personal website with the same account as i use for hubpages?
my personal website targets a uk audience, do kontera have uk based ads ?
thanks in advance.....jimmy
Hi Jimmy,
You can actually request multiple sets of tags when you sign up. Just list them in the comments section. We'll give you one tag for the Hubpages posts and then we can give you another tag for your other sites. (Note- the application process could take a bit longer with multiple tags) You can request up to 5 tags at a time and once those are all live and generating revenue, you can put in a request for 5 additional tags if you need to.
Something to note is that our JS will work on any page of content, anywhere along the internet so in theory, you could use one JS tags on as many sites as you own and you'll be able to generate revenue through it. We analyze dynamically so we should be able to work on whatever page you put us on, but so that we can optimize, and given that you content could vary greatly between sites, it's best to use individual tags so that we can optimize accordingly.
With regards to UK traffic, that is not a problem. In addition to working with over 300+ of the top online brands directly, we're also the exclusive partner for Yahoo Search Marketing and this partnership extends through YahooUS, YahooUK, Yahoo Australia, Yahoo India and we are also working with several other search companies (not named Google) to make sure that we've got coverage for over 90% of the world. Our primary business deals with US based advertisers but we've need to make sure that regardless of where our publisher's readers are coming from, that we a solid suite of advertisers to suit them.
Thanks Jimmy,
Mike
I had to tell them I was adding HubPages but I am using the same account number.
Mike - The sign-up page is still rejecting my profile page as URL, what should I do about that?
http://hubpages.com/profile/Mark+Knowles
Thanks
Mark
Mark we adjusted the instructions to address that problem.
http://hubpages.com/help/kontera
Ah, thanks Paul. After I posted this, I worked out that if I just added http://hubpages.com and added my profile URL in the box at the bottom, they would probably sort it out
I have managed to get through. Now waiting for confirmation.
Hi,
i have actually signed up kontera with a single tag.Now i wanted to add to different sites also. How, do i do it?
Once you've gone live and are tracking impressions with your original tag, please email support@kontera.com with the following information-
In the subject line- Request for Additional Tags
In the body- Original URL you signed up with, your Publisher ID and then list the site(s) that would like to have additional tags for. Usually these requests are handled in about a 48 hour turn around.
Thanks,
Mike
Hello Mike, I see Kontera often and regularly pays one to three cents a click and has a poor click through rate. I also noticed Adsense pays ten times more on the same page for a click.
I often think that in line text ads such as kontera are detracting from my Adsense earnings which proves to pay more per click.
Is kontera thinking in the near future to increase the cpc to their publishers or will this remain the same as it has for the past twelve months continuing to pay only the few cents it does.
I have looked at the advertising costs on keywords with your company and it does not make sense I pay so much to advertise when in reality the publishers gets a pitance of the keyword cost. Will kontera have a fairer payment policy to publishers in the near future or will it remain the same.
Most importantly can you provide a contact email address where we can get a reply as in the past on too many occasions I get the response that this email has been deleted before opening. Guy is the main one that I get these emails from.
You seem to be getting an army of hubpages hubbers at the moment where you really should tell them what to expect in cpc's and support. If it was me signing up for the first time and not having had previous experience with you, I would like to know.
06/25/2008 11 1 9.09% $0.01
06/26/2008 32 1 3.13% $0.03
Hi Terry,
First off, with regards to the support questions- they are getting to the right people and they are getting prioritized. What happens is that a support email will go out to the several departments within our organization and it will be routed to the right dept. to handle it. If you see a 'deleted without being read' what's happening is that one, that person has auto preview enabled on his outlook to where he can read the email without opening it, but two, he's only responsible for a very specific set of support emails. I hope you can understand that with over 13,000 publishers, the Support team is a large one and we try to make sure that we can get back in touch with everyone within 48 hours at the latest.
With regards to the CPC, that is a very low CPC and it's only 2 clicks that you are measuring, the CPC should be higher. I would imagine that the 2 clicks are coming from areas outside the US, where the CPCs aren't as high, but I would say we need more data to figure out why the CPC is so low.
Make no mistake, Google pays very well and we're not here to try and compete against their ads, but rather provide an additional stream of revenue to go along side and add to your AdSense revenue. In the month of testing that we did before launching the partnership, the HubPages team made it 100% clear that unless we could provided additional revenue on top of AdSense then they would not want to offer this to their writers. We were able to deliver an eCPM that worked for their team and we hope to find the same fits with all of the writers. Some content doesn't garner the highest CPC advertisers, but most of what you're all writing about does. We will optimize and work towards bringing the right amount of revenue to your sites and please give us some time to work through it all as there is a good amount of optimizng that needs to take place prior to finding the optimal fit.
Tags- I am going to get with my Tech team to see how many we have in the queue. I would like to think that we can get a good amount out today, but I will be back in touch with each person who's been waiting to make sure they get squared away.
Thanks,
Mike
One more problem to bother you Mike. I have signed up with Kontera and obtained the publisher id and updated in Hubpages yesterday. But i did not find any ads. Whats the problem? Am i missing something?
Hubbers that are signed in cannot see the ads,you would be able to see the ads on your hubs, only if you sign out of hubpages.
You can only see the ads if your signed out. That may be why you're not seeing the ads.
no guys, Iam not able to see even after i signed out.I finished the process 2 days back.Guys help me put.
This is my profile

I signed up for Kontera and have not received a confo email---It looks as if I have 1 of your ads on my Does Missouri support Child Abusers? hub and I haven't even added Kontera--not until I get a confo and ID #--there are others who signed up after me and have already been confirmed. Have I done something wrong?
I also just went to your site which allows me to login--but nothing else
I signed up a few days ago as well, but haven't rec'd a confirmation email. Also, I can't sign in. Is this normal? I know it can take up to 5 days to get the publisher ID, but I thought the confirmation came ahead of that.
Hi Shirley,
What was the URL that you signed up under, or can you provide me with the time in which you signed up? If you didn't receive a confirm, maybe the entire application was not filled out.
Thanks,
Mike
Hi Mike:
This website url: http://www.hubpages.com/affiliate
with this in the comment box: http://hubpages.com/profile/Shirley+Anderson
Did I mess up somehow?
Thx, Mike!
Shirley
Hi Shirley,
No, the application looks great, I think the hold up is just normal weekend delays. Whitney, I see that your application has been processed and sent, if you have not seen it, it may be in a spam folder and if not, please let me know and I will have it resent.
One thing to note, it looks as if we've sent off over 100 new Kontera accounts however only a few have gone ahead and implemented.
Once you get the tags, if you can please get us implemented, it will help my team and I be able to fast track the rest of the applications and make sure this partnership gets off the ground in a hurry.
Thanks everyone,
Mike
I just checked my email and spam folders - nadda from Kontera yet.
Hello Kontera Team!
I visited your site konters.com for sign up but when i click the sign up button, the sign up form does not appeard is it some technicle problem or you have any special site / url to allow the sign up.
Waiting for reply.
Hi Kami,
I just tried to sign up through the HubPages link and it worked fine. It was a little slow, but it worked none the less. Can you try it again and give it a few minutes? If it doesn't work, let me know what OS you are using and I will be happy to create an account for you with your details.
Thanks,
Mike
Hello Mike,
I am signed through Hub Pages.
Can i use the same code for my blog or i need to get seperate tags for my blog?
Thanks in advance
Mike, with the paypal option, do they take their fees, or do you get the exact dollar amount you earn? With the ACH payment option, what position do you recommend entering?
Hi Whitney,
Since you're in the US, I would highly suggest taking ACH as the option for payment. We can do both, but ACH is just so much easier. Some people have PayPal accounts that do charge fees, while I'm not sure what kind of account you have set up with PayPal, I do know that there are never any fees with ACH and they get processed just as fast.
Also, I'm working with my tech team on the tags (Shirley, Jimmy, Darkside and Whitney, this will pertain to you and many others). Looks like there was some complications with the "+" in the URLs and how accounts were getting registered and it's caused a delay in a number of tags regardless if the URL had the + or not. I'll have an official post about this shortly, once I have all the information, but if there's been a hiccup on our end that has caused the delay in you guys getting your tags, I will make sure we make it up to everyone on Hubpages with an increase in revenue share for July.
Long story short, it should never take this long and I appreciate everyone's patience and understanding.
More to come on this.
Mike
Thanks Mike
I signed in online and found my ID, but I never received the email. Or at least I think that it's my ID. :-/ I assume that Yahoo blocked it. But, I'm still not sure what position to enter when using the ACH payment option.
I don't know what position to put either. Anyone?
I too have been waiting about 5 days http://hubpages.com/profile/Lissie
While some of you have seen the welcome letter from Kontera, and some have not. I wanted to let you all know that there will be a team working on ensuring that for people who signed up last week, that the tags get to you within the next 24 hours. The team will be working through the night to resend tags and make sure that the get delivered. After a series of meetings, we isolated that fact that given the unique sign up feature that we offered, where numerous publishers were using the same URL -http://www.hubpages/affiliate, that it was causing a back log for our tech team to sort out and manually approve each site. In a perfect world, this would have been caught before the weekend, but for those that are waiting for many days now, please accept my apologies.
I happy to say that we've in fact found the issue and have corrected it, but given that many of you have had to wait beyond the agreed upon time, 5 days, that as a result, I will be moving revenue share for all publishers who signed up through the Hubpages account up to 55% for the month of July. Our standard rate is 50% so it's a 10% increase for the publisher and I hope that we can get all of you live with Kontera and seeing the results we saw with our testing last month.
Please continue to use this forum for questions, with the start of a new quarter we have many new ad campaigns that should work very well with your content and I will do my best to get back to your questions as quickly as possible moving forward.
Thanks all.
Mike
Thank-you, Mike. You and your team have been working hard to get everything corrected and flowing well. I'm sure it will all be good very shortly.
I decided to just sign in to see if I could, and it worked this time and got my ID. Yay!
Thx again, Mike!
O.k..Now I feel really stupid..Last week I signed up under my blog..because when I signed up for everything else on hubpages it had to be under my personal blog, Frozen-music.blogspot.com
SO should I have signed up under my profile address? Can I change it or what do I need to do?
Marye,
You don't need to change anything, I will make a note of this and update the revenue share accordingly.
Mike
I finally got my kontera ID today, but i didn't receive any confirmation email, i just log in to my account and check. So after i enter my id on my affiliate setting when can I expect to see the ads appearing on my hubpages.
forever
*Slaps own forehead* why didn't I think of that?
I've logged in. Done all that. And I've checked and I can see the ads right now.
You have to be logged out to see the ads.
Sorry about this post. My account is active but I didn't get an email thats all!
Sorry again,
-thranax
I am still waiting for approval, but I just had to log out and check the Kontera ads on Darkside's Hubs.
Linked Word(s) - Kontera ad
"philosophy" - "compare and save on life insurance"
"philosopher" - "free business magazines"
Adsense managed to come up with philosophy-related Adsense ads, so why is Kontera so far off the mark?
Did we get this level of topic disconnect in the testing, Paul? Or is philosophy a particularly tricky topic for Kontera for some reason?
Jenny
Yeah, I noticed that.
Is it just picking the keywords or is it taking into account the context of the whole page?
Either way, that was some strange results.
The same on some of my How To Hub hubs.
I don't really want to add the ads to my page till this gets a response. I don't want off ads on my Hubs, it will drive away people and make them agitated?
I just have to think, does it have anything to do with the extra 5% profits that the algorithms aren't working properly? I really don't know much about how the ads get to the links so I really can't state anything, just seems fishy because on other sites the Kontera ads are pretty good.
Hi Jenny,
The goal is 3 tiered- bring value to the reader by letting them get more information from products/services that they're currently interested in; deliver additional revenue to our publishers through the content that is already within their site; maintain our advertisers ROI by working with only the best publishers with the proper content and select the most contextually relevant KWs that will benefit all three aspects of the business.
I'll start by saying that there is certain content that doesn't easily allow itself to be the best fit for in-text ads- philosophy would be a good example of this. While our algorithm is determining that the best KWs to link, i.e, the words that best describe the content, are words surrounding philosophy, there are very few advertiser options that would make sense for that KW. What ends up happening is that because we are partnered with Yahoo, Ask.com, MSN, Looksmart and other search companies, these companies have deals with many a advertiser who are looking for traffic and will buy enormous amounts of KWs in hopes of capturing as many clicks to their site as possible. You can see this through Google with the amount of ads you see eBay on. You can essentially find anything you want through eBay and therefore they spend over $350k a day with Google to target any KW they can. There are other advertisers who follow this lead and you will see them from time to time if we do not have a direct advertiser that would make a better fit.
Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of these larger advertisers, but what it does allow is us to be able to deliver revenue to the publisher on all of their pages and maintain that aspect of the business. As a publisher though, you have control over what pages you put our code on and what kind of content you are delivering to your reader. You can request for us to block specific KWs from being linked on any pages, we can also tighten up the targeting so that there will be less ads showing up, but they will be more relevant, so to speak, so that you can essentially determine what level of monetization you are comfortable with.
While you mentioned that Google had an ad for the page in question, there are also 4 options to choose from. In-text is a little different in that there's just one option and while we're trying to maintain the balance of revenue vs. relevancy, most publishers will lean more towards revenue which is where you will find advertisers who are paying a high amount to get on KWs and the advertiser who is paying very little but their product/service may be more targeted, doesn't get as much exposure.
I hope that I'm not losing you on this explanation. I've been working with in-text since the idea was founded over 8 years ago and I sometimes forget that it's a very new idea to most. Our ads work very well in many categories of content, but it's also understood that there's certain content out there that probably doesn't make much sense to have an advertisers sponsor. While we will work to make sure that we have advertisers and partners to be able to fill 95% of our publishers pages, regardless of the geographic location of the reader, there will be times where you will say "this ad doesn't make sense to me." We work to eliminate that comment but it's much easier said then done and again, there are just certain topics that no matter who you're working with, there won't be the 'best' ad for the piece.
What I would suggest is to give the ads some time to get a feel for what's being displayed and spread them out through different topics of content. Find the best fit that will work for you and your passions and if we can provide revenue for just 20% of your Hubs, then great, or if we work on all of your Hubs, even better, but we will work to live up to your specifications, but it takes time. We've seen over 300 new accounts through the Hubpages partnership and I'm working to make sure that we deliver the eCPMs that we saw during our testing and that you guys are happy with the product/payout while maintaining your 'brand' to your readers.
I've enjoyed the process so far, sounds like more of you are getting the tags and getting things going, I'll be around for more questions and all I ask is that you just give it more then a day and let us work to find the fit. If we can't find you the right fit within a few weeks, I'll be surprised, but as long as we've given it an honest try, that's all we can ask.
Thanks,
Mike
I was given my pub ID # today--entered it and words turned into ads-I love it--can't wait to see the results.
If you are signed in they won't show
I signed up 3-4 days ago and today i received mail saying im in there program but i cannot find the affiliate ID to place in my Hubpages account!?
help! i need somebody:)
Im sure answer is here in the thread somewhere but i have looked and now have a headache
Love The Beatles reference!
Did you get it figured out?
Hi Shirley, yeah, everythings sweet! and hopefully getting sweeter! i hope you too are just as sweet as you look too;)
Sorted;)
Paul, your a diamond geezer and as alwasy very helpful!!.
Thankyou:)
Mike,
How much time it takes for ads to appear after activation of a publisher's account?
One more thing, though I could trace out my Kontera ID from the body of the html tag but most of the publishers are struggling to get their publisher ID. Is there a simple way to know the publisher ID after approval of an account?
Paul,
After given the Kontera links a substantial testing period on our own hubs, if we decide that we don't like them, is there a way to turn off all of the adds without going into each hub and turning it off? I ask because I spent about 2-3 hours picking about 100-200 hubs to turn Kontera ads on, and in case I decide that the ads just aren't for me, will I have to go back through and figure out which ones I turned on in order to turn them all off individually, or can I go into the affiliate section, and use the option to turn them all off at once even though they all don't have Kontera turned on?
Hi Whitney, I know this question was for Paul but i know the answer
You can turn them ALL off by default from your Hubpages accounts affiliate settings,Or leave it on by daffault and select each individual hub you dont want to display them on from your hubs:)
I saw the option, but I didn't know if it still had an effect if not all of the hubs were featuring the ads. Is it still the case, in that situation, or am I just overthinking it?
You're overthinking it. That form will turn Kontera on or off on all of your hubs without regard for the settings on individual hubs.
lol thanks. I thought that was the problem... (me overthinking)
But, while I'm at it.... If I decide to turn them all off, but at some point decide to turn on a few hubs, could I just go into those hubs and mark them to show kontera ads and not affect the option to turn them all off?
Turning Kontera on for an individual hub will not affect whether Kontera is on or off for new hubs. That is controlled entirely by the checkbox on the affiliate settings page.
Paul, are you going to make it possible to turn on and off by capsule to avoid what we talked about last week?
Thanks for the detailed reply, Mike. You didn't lose me, I am a marketing consultant and have been involved in this type of thinking since before there was an internet. I like to know EVERYTHING.
I have just received my Kontera log-in details (by the way, your form won't allow us to enter states outside the USA) and am working through the process to get the ads going on my Hubs.
Another by the way - our PayPal email inbox gets loaded with all sorts of notifications and subscription emails, and unopened emails pile up in there, sometimes for days. We really want emails from Kontera to go to the person who will be dealing with Kontera ads, so they get seen and dealt with immediately. Your system insists that we have the same email address for Kontera that we have for PayPal.
We have complied for now to keep the process moving forward, but is there any way we can change the email address for communication with Kontera going forward?
Jenny
Hi Jenny,
Publishers can update and change anything and everything, including payment options, through the Publisher Center - http://publishers.kontera.com
With regards to ads appearing after the creation of the account- you should see ads within 24 hours of an account being created but depending on where you are viewing the ads from, and if you are signed in to Hubpages, you may not be able to see the ads on your pages.
In terms of publisher ID, you can find it within the welcome email as well as when you login to the Publisher Center.
Thanks
Mike
Mike,
Why does it take so long for the links to actually appear on the page. When you click on a hub (not signed in), there seems to be a delay on when the links actually appear in the content. I checked several hubs that never had links appear, and I know that I set them to appear. I refreshed the pages and then sat for a while, and nothing ever appeared. The funny thing was that I have other similar hubs that had links appear, after I sat a minute, but they appeared. So, I'm just curious why it takes so long, and why some hubs that are on similar topics as others don't feature ads when the other does?
Hi Whitney,
Can you send me the URLs you are referencing so that I can test them from my side? The load of the links should be almost instantaneous but sometimes it can be slower if there's a large amount of content to analyze or it's the first few times that this JS, coupled with new content, are hitting our servers for analyzation.
Thanks,
mike
Sure can. Do you have an email that I can send them to you?
Let me know if you didn't receive my email and I'll wait to hear from you.
With regards to link color, you can change the color of the links, not the ad layer itself, but the color of the links through the JS. It's one of the line items and you can choose any color you'd like.
The line looks like this-
var dc_AdLinkColor = 'blue';
Just change 'blue' to whatever color you'd like.
Thanks,
Mike
Hi Whitney,
Sorry that my private messages were not getting to you, go ahead and send the URLs to mike@kontera.com
Thanks,
Mike
I have done everything and have gone in and (unsigned) cannot see any ads just did it earlier tonight how long does it take to activate. thanks
Would it be possible for you to "skin" the popups or change the colors of them? For example, in my hub, The Bronze Ring, I have a graphic that is kind of bronze-like. I'd like for the pop-up to be Bronze or something similar. I think it'd be a nice way to personalize each hub. Just an idea... wondering if that would be possible.
Thanks... even though I haven't made anything with Kontera yet, thank you for joining! Hey... when are you going to write some hubs?????

Matthew, I got a broken link icon for this hub. When I put it in edit mode, nothing is highlighted. I deleted one pic I thought it might be and two promotional comments with a website.com. It's still saying that the broken link is there but I can't find it. Please check,...

Since I finished the apprenticeship, and after umpteen updates and changes made on HP, my traffic has never picked up. I can't remember the last time I saw any more than 40 views a day. My average at the moment is more like 30. The articles I worked long and hard to produce, sit there doing nothing...

Who thinks we should ask to reinstate a page dedicated to locating hubbers by hubber score. Beginning with 100-0.We once had such a page here that made the hubber score much more relevant, and we could at least get a chance to locate the top hubbers who most definitely deserved high praise for...

I've been frustrated several times by knowing a little, but not quite enough, about a Hub I want to read. When I go to the Advanced Search function within HubPages, I can't find a way to enter the information I know in order to use it effectively. For example, earlier today I saw the title of...
