Religion can be defined in one word...
      hope,
Hope is the belief that there is another way other than fact, the denial of fact. But religion itself can not be defined by humans for we put our ideas and personal opinions within the definition thus creating a parallel between our own morals and beliefs.

They great emotional invested superstitions about war and sex. Yet very little interest about the top 5 related greatest threats to mankind.

It's not about war and sex. Buddhism is a religion that seeks a way to enlightenment, there are no values or morals pointed even near "war or sex".

Ah you are referring to the Christian biblical laws, the question asks all religions not just christianity.

Yes the war bit is true yes and that is the after effect of religious views and beliefs.

That is the type of Buddhism which teaches a way of life.   Somewhat different from the versions of Buddhism practiced as a religion in various countries of Asia.  Those are so similar to the superstitious brands of Christianity, especially in their effect upon the community in which they are practised.

Also different from the Western-type religions that try to control humanity for ulterior motive.

            IMHO

To shay, but if we to consider the defining basics of religion we would find them in Asia. This westernized Buddhism is just like Westernized Christianity but definitive area to describe Christianity would be in Rome. This type of religion smoothies i.e. Buddhism and Christianity, I agree with your statement in saying that you have a group of people who are Christians who live in a Buddhist community of course their going to talk to each other so they make a new religion and then other people like it and it goes on.

Toaism is 500 years older than the Bible. I do get the book of Toaist because it is based on nature. Making nature the only true religion, and God is just a word.
