'FENMAN - Last Stronghold' currently with the publisher, New Generation. Keep an eye on the RAVENFEAST SERIES page for progress on the next follow-up. Book seven, 'FENMAN.- Last Stronghold' revolves around William's siege of Ely during the winter of 1070-71. He almost threw in the towel, but that's as much as I can tell you here. Something to look forward to in May, 2017.

Did you see me in the Dormitory Range at Battle Abbey near Hastings this year ?(Book sales were up the steps, we had a stage to deliver our talks) over the week ending 10-11 October (949th anniversary of the battle, 2016 will be the 950th, a 'landmark' event), along with a raft of authors including James Aitcheson, Marc Morris and Stewart Binns. We chatted with readers about historical fiction or fact and I mooched around the site, looking over the craft booths and taking pictures of re-enactors for future use.

I have an abiding interest in history, North-western European history in particular, Britain, Scandinavia, Normandy. At one time I was more interested in modern, 20th Century history but was drawn gradually back in time... Richard III, MacBeth, the Vikings... all maligned by Shakespeare. MacBeth led me to Malcolm Canmore, to Siward 'the Dane', Eadward the Confessor and on to Harold.

I have a talented wife, Kath, a true Cockney, and three offspring, Joanne, Robert and Suzanne. Joanne has recently left the Tours office at Lord's Cricket Ground in NW8 to pursue a career in teaching. Robert's almost finished studying to be a teacher of English as a second language in Germany, working towards his BA.He shares a flat in Dortmund with his talented German girlfriend Carla. Suzy has finished her four year degree and masters in Physics at Sheffield University. After working in the East Tyrol, Austria for a year, she is now on a PHD course at the Technical University in Vienna, coaching in English as well - another two years to go... Lots of that culture thing to soak up. More on that another time.

Kath does talks on London to groups around this side of London and West Essex, a fair demand for her talents there! Having retired, she's got more time to herself these days and spends some of that time researching her forebears. By the way, this image of me was taken by Kath at home, slaving over a hot laptop to bring you more readables.
