This is a party to be filled with lively discussion about world issues important to those attending. You can choose hubbers from the hubs they've written or their forum discussions. This isn't meant to be a popularity thread, but one to mention hubbers which have caught our attention and respect. You don't necessarily have to agree with their opinions. If you can't think of 10, at least mention 6. Let's keep it fun!
OK, here's mine.
Pearldiver Mighty Mom BillyBuc Nellieanna Winsome Petra Vlah De Greek habee Sunforged prettydarkhorse
ok, this is hard.. I tried to pick people from all walks of life from various parts of the world. These are hubbers I've read throughout my time here and have grown to respect.
Tough tough call. If someone was holding a gun to my head and forcing me to name them fast, and imposing a boy, girl, boy, girl order (gunmen are so touchy about balanced seating arrangements) I would probably blurt out:
Mark Ewbie Vespawoolf Mhatter Claudia Tello Om Paramapoonya Summerberrie Horatio Plot Simone Smith Scott Gruber and of course Rebekahelle
Well, as the thread continues, we can always have a different dinner party with a new guest list and maybe list the topics we discussed! I already can think of another 10 I forgot!! Jason Menayan (livelonger) has to be invited, and wavegirl22.
I'm pretty new here, so I don't know too many people. But, from what I'm reading, I'd invite Fastfreta a couple of days before the party to help me with the preparations, and if she wanted to help me clean the house before the guests arrived, I wouldn't argue.
Ah come on, wilderness. Play along, it's not about popularity, but who sounds interesting to you? Although popularity can be misunderstood, nobody wants a boring party! We've got to get Mark off the carrot juice.
This is hard but here's my shortlist in no particular order: Billybuc MickeySr Shiningirisheyes Pearldiver hawaiianodysseus Faith Reaper Lord De Cross Rolly Chabot Vincent Moore and of course Epigramman (no party without him).
And, then there's a second batch..... @Monis Mas - you can come over to my next party. (:
My party would have to at least include the following as the first string... (It is impossible for me to stop at 10!)
Nell Rose Wavegirl22 livelonger (I miss Jason) Daisy Mariposa Sunshine625 Cagsil cclitgirl MickeySr Mighty Mom Global Chica Docmo Happyboomernurse rebekahELLE cardelean Denise Handlon Simone Smith Gordon Hamilton Mark Ewbie Patty Inglish, MS...and I simply must have all of the Scribe Tribe over as well! You know who you are!!
Happy Hanukkah and Good Night....I must go tend to the menorah! Shalom!
Exactly. It's also a fun way to read hubbers you may not know.
My second guest list is complete. This is more of an artsy crowd, most of which never step foot in the forums. I follow each of them so I have read their work. Party theme is Marie Antoinette garden party style (if you saw the movie). LOL
The Lost Dutchman carozy CJStone Danielle Farrow Drax GPAGE timorous LeititiaFT vespawoolf Tom Rubenoff
Looks amazing, Holle, that's one smoking hot butt! You and hubby were already invited!
It sounds like some great parties are planned with great food, lots of Guinness and jelly donuts galore.
@Letitia, thanks for bringing the post- its. We're definitely going to use them Marie Antoinette party style.
Ok, I see some are having issues with choosing just 10, no problem, it's your party, invite as many as you can handle. But, It's kind of fun putting the guest list together. It is hard cuz HP has such a great group of interesting hubbers. I'm seeing some names I don't know, so it's fun to check them out.
Just for fun, my son took this pic of his daughter with her 'troll' face and put it on this funny ecard site, Oppan Gangnam style .
I have to arrange my own party cos no one has invited me
. Simone Smith ( i have met her and she is nice) CmHypno (as above) MarkEwbie- cos everyone else has ParadigmSearch ( cos he could be the leading intellectual) IzzyM- cos the scots love a good party SaraGarret- i would turn the heating up James A Watkins- we couild have a little chat about fundamentalism ( I dont do it) Fast Freta ( someone has to clean up) Nell Rose - we could watch a re play of the royal wedding and of course...... Habee - we will need that food to eat
Apologies if you are not invited but it is hard to squeeze so many around my table as it is
I do not know how many hubbers there are ,but It will be an open invitationThat will be awesome to meet everybody. Of course that will be a very preposterous invitation but I think it will be a great party. The only restrictions I have in the menu will be : STRICTLY NO ALCOHOL,NO DRUGS AND NO CIGARETTES.THE FOOD WILL BE OVERFLOWING AND THERE WILL ENOUGH FOR TAKES OUTS.LOL! HEAR ye,Hear ye!! Come one, come all...The door is open ... It will be my pleasure to meet everybody.
@Docmo, you're going to be busy partying through the holidays!
@Cardisa, you're going to need a lot of cases for your party!
@Globetrekkermel, there are 134,847 published users according to the HP home page, along with 18 staff members ~~ that's one crazy, big party!
Thanks for the invites. I would love to meet all of these hubbers.
Back to work for me in the morning, but I'll check in and put out a new guest list. I can think of so many I would love to meet, I can't believe I forgot Izzy, and of course, Paul and Robin Edmondson! We'll have to throw a party with the HP staff, Paul can make some mean margarita's and BBQ's.
Hi there, In keeping with the spirit in which this question was posted, and emphasizing that it is by no means a popularity contest, here is my list...in no particular order. These are folks who always leave thoughtful comments, and all of them write from the heart...I love reading their posts and Hubs and think it would be great to spend an evening over some good food getting to know them:
Just Ask Susan - Susan and I could whip out some recipe Hubs to feed the crowd spartucusjones - only if he promises to come in full costume and bring the music Mhatter kashmir56 pagesvoice teaches12345 - Twinkies for dessert please so I can finally try one :-) xstatic anviannovice MarleneB tobusiness
Jimmy Watkins Shalini Kagal Dottie One Shibashake Feline Prophet Life Iz Beautiful Kashmir56 (Tom - great guy!) BeatsMe Michelle (Midget) Tatjana Michaelova ParaGlider The Host (That's me! Without the host there won't be a party, right?)
... just a few more, but hang on I'll check and get back! six more ... and counting!
I love reading these lists, it sounds like some very interesting parties with so many great hubbers. It's great to see the participation, thanks to all who have posted.
Here is my 3rd party list. There are so many truly intriguing hubbers. This is my group of thinkers/philosophers. Most of them I follow. I know one of them and know he would be a great asset to this party. There needs to be plenty of Cabernet and beer of Shadesbreath's choice.

If you could have a dinner party with any 9 people you wanted, who would you invite? And I mean ANYONE. They can be dead, alive, fictional, political, another version of your self. These people can be famous, unknown, etc... anything goes. What nie people would you have at your dinner party, why...
If you could spend a few hours with anyone famous, alive or dead, who would be your celebrity tea party guest? Personally, I have an enormous guest list, starting with Thomas Crapper - the Victorian who patented the flushing toilet. I would have loads to ask him over the cucumber...
If it was possibly would everyone like to meet and have a party or dinner?I have met so many wonderful; and special hubbers.. You have gone out of your way to help me and guide me if I need guiding.. My question is, if it was possible for all of us to meet and have like a party or dinner...
When a guest brings wine to your dinner party, should you open it?If you open it and share it could seem as if you wanted to save your own, or keep it and risk seeming snobby - ie the wine not good enough, or again, mean - wine too good and keeping it for self?
Before going to a dinner party, do you eat something to curb your appetite?Dinner parties are often held after regular meal times. How do you change your schedule so that you do not overeat at the party, but yet still have room to enjoy the meal?
