I also submitted a poem and it got accepted. My previous experience with him was unpleasant because he did not respond to me. So I was really hesitating to submit my work again. My emails, I believe, ended up in his spam folder. It's funny! I emailed him using my primary email address and received no response, so I emailed him again using my brother's email address, and he responded. I also informed him about my previous submissions.
My poem had 30 lines, so he asked if I am willing to cut 5 lines and resubmit it. I edited and resubmitted it. Here is his response:
I'm so glad you sent this revision because I loved it because it is worded so wonderfully and knew it was a really good fit for this anthology, but I needed to follow my own guidelines.I am happily including it in Stories & Poems in the Song of Life. I wish you had sent me an email inquiring about your submissions to A Love Letter (or Poem) So . . .I'm so sorry I missed the opportunity to read and consider them.
