What recipes are great for families? (Contest-Friendly Weekly Topic Inspiration)

Cooking for oneself or for a couple of people is very different from cooking for an entire family. What recipes do you know of that work really well for families (in that they’re good for larger groups or making leftovers, they’re relatively easy, and/or they allows kids and other helpers to get involved)?

Share them as part of this week’s (contest-friendly) Weekly Topic Inspiration! For title ideas and group support, stop by the official forum thread: http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/99416

We used to buy Boboli pizza breads, drizzle w/ olive oil and spread w/ Italian tomato paste, then make our own individual favorites w/ assorted toppings.. It was  fun for families (kids and adults) and friends. The salad was also part of a the group effort. It's more fun to eat a custom creation!
