Good morning everyone, first of all I want to thank all of you who took part in last week's Performing Arts hubmob, you created a total of 30 hubs around the most varied forms of performing arts ranging from classical operas, signing and acting workshops to strip teasing!

A special mention to our two most prolific hubmobsters of the week, RedElf and Patty Inglish with 4 hubs each.  Well done! http://i24.tinypic.com/13zr8gg.jpg

From performing arts we are shifting to beauty issues this week and we are going to discuss the sometimes controversial topic of cosmetic surgery.  According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, plastic surgeons conducted a record 11.9 million procedures last year.  But, do people who had plastic surgery feel better about themselves?  Have you ever had a cosmetic surgery procedure or do you know anyone who had?  Would you consider going under the knife to improve your looks?  Do you think it is worth the risk to have a surgical procedure only to look better? Let us know your opinions and experience on this topic.

Some ideas for a hubmob hub on cosmetic surgery are:

    What is plastic surgery?
    Cosmetic surgery vs. reconstructive surgery
Advantages and disadvantages of cosmetic surgery
    Costs
    Most common cosmetic surgery procedures
    Medical ethics
    Psychological impact
How and where to find a certified plastic surgeon
    The role of the media
    New cosmetic surgery procedures
    Bariatric Surgery
    Botox
    Breast Procedures
    Buttocks procedures
    Chemical Peels
    Cosmetic Surgery Tourism
    Face procedures
    Hair procedures
    History of Cosmetic Surgery
    Liposuction
    Skin Procedures
    Spider Vein Treatments
    Techniques & Procedures
    Tummy Tuck

To join this week's HubMob please follow the steps below:

    1. YOU MUST START YOUR HUB CLICKING THIS LINK.  Choose the Answer the Request green button.  Choose the MAKE A HUB ABOUT IT option.

    2. Choose a relevant title for your Hub to get a good ranking in the search engines, AVOID starting your title with "Weekly HubMob"

    3. Include the HubMob RSS Feed in your hub: http://hubpages.com/request/20125/?new&rss

    4. Add the HubMob graphic to your hub so that everyone who reads it will know that it is part of the official HubMob topic of the week.

    5. After you publish your HubMob Hub, come back to the forum and post a link to your hub with a brief description of what you wrote about and why.  Take advantage of the free publicity!

Thanks for your prompt reply.  I read the challenge topic when it came out and dismissed it due to... I'm not sure why.  Lack of interest on the topic?  Then a topic came to me out of the blue.  Maybe my brain works too slow to make most HM deadlines.  Anyway, I don't think anyone has addressed bariatric surgery/complications yet?

        1. Princessa profile image81
Princessaposted 14 years agoin reply to this

No, I think no one has done that one this week.  It sounds very interesting.
We are not too strict about the deadlines, you can always submit your hubmob hub even after I have posted the new topic.  The only disadvantage in doing so is that you get less exposure than publishing during the week when "all the eyes" are on this forum thread.

  29. rmcrayne profile image91
    rmcrayneposted 14 years ago

Good to hear HP HM is flexible Princessa.  I get it about the exposure.  Unfortunately, the way the Crayne brain works, it likes to stew and savor things. I'd need a 2-4 week projection of topics to participate regularly!

Greetings & Salutations everyone. I finally got my hub published in a timely way.  This is my third attempt at joining in the mob, but somehow, the last two times, I ended up writing for the previous week.  I had some weird problem with viewing this new hub earlier, but it looks like it's okay now.  I'm on it though this time, even though I would have liked to have submitted it earlier in the week.  Oh well - better late than never.  Here it is: http://hubpages.com/hub/Children-And-Co … ce-To-Kids

    http://hubpages.com/hub/Bariatric-Surge … ric-Bypass

Many would say the benefits of weight loss surgery are obvious.  You look better, you feel better, you’re healthier, and you live longer.  There are many common side effects of surgery, which clients obviously must decide for themselves if the potential benefits are worth the risks and inconveniences.  There is an emerging trend however of a much more serious complication of unstable blood sugar.
