Time's up folks. Cartoon week is finished with a whooping 29 answers and more than 2500 views to start with. It was really fun reading all those hubs, remembering old times and getting to know new technologies and characters. It has also been so much fun being a HubMobster last week that a few of you contributed with more than one Hub like, Mezo who was again the most prolific HubMobster with 4 Hubs for last week.
This week we are going to face a controversial topic, LGBT issues, which translates as Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues. Somehow we are all faced with this issue at some point, whether it is a friend, a family member, a law in our country or just images in the media. We all have our own opinions based on our own experiences. This is the week to be controversial, let us know your opinions, your experiences and tips, your reactions to the media, etc.
Some ideas for a HubMob hub are:
LGBT themes in mythology
Gay Marriage: your views, laws in your estate/country
Media & Social Issues
Homosexuality and religion
First Time Experiences
Tolerance and discrimination
Adoption for same sex couples
Legislation and civil rights for gay couples in your estate/country
Pride, gay parades
To join this week's HubMob please follow the steps below:
1. CLICK THIS LINK and answer the Request.
2. Choose a relevant title for your HubMob To get a good ranking in the search engines make your title relevant to your hub content and avoid starting your title with "Weekly HubMob"
3. If necessary change the category for your hub according to your content.
4. Include the HubMob RSS Feed in your hub:
5. Add the HubMob graphic to your hub so that everyone who reads it will know that it is part of the official HubMob topic of the week.
6. After you publish your HubMob Hub, come back to the forum and post a link to your hub with a brief description of what you wrote about and why. Take advantage of the free publicity!
7. Keep track of your Hub and keep us updated on any traffic that you're getting and
have fun writing your HubMob Hub
For those who are still not sure about what is a HubMob and the benefits of taking part in one I created this guide http://hubpages.com/hub/What-is-a-HubMo … o-join-one , please feel free to come up with any questions if you have any doubts left.
Darn, I wrote a couple for the Hub Challenge that would have been perfect for this topic. Oh well, I'll come up with something else!
i don't have much to say about this topic, but anyway i think it's going to be an interesting week, LGBT issues (as i see) have been discussed so much in western countries, specially in last few years, even the movies in last few years have been discussing this issue heavily (and i think it's not something spontaneuous)
anyway, there is 1 question im dying to know its answer, i hope any of the female hubbers would answer : Is it real that most women are bisexual by nature? I mean Is it real that most women can turn to lesbians within seconds?
Interesting. I hadn't heard that before, nor had the thought crossed my mind, if ya know what I mean.
Sexual orientation is a scale. I would be lying if I said I never thought about being with a woman. Turning into a lesbian within seconds?? Now that I'm not so sure about.
I think I win then - my first hub on the subject http://hubpages.com/hub/Lesbian-Dating-Sites - well depending on the subject I guess -but I haven't written about Greece before either :-)
I'm glad to see this topic come up. I just hope we can get through it with a minimum of intolerant or negative behavior.
Here's my entry for the HubMob (and a reminder about why it's important to avoid intolerant and negative behavior on this issue):
The Price of Hate: Violence Against LGBT People Around the World
Yes, please lets be civilized, tolerant and respectful towards each other.
I don’t suggest that you all agree with the topic, lets just share information, ideas, opinions, perspectives and knowledge. Why? Because I believe there is a lot to learn. And through learning, I believe people become better because they are less ignorant, less naïve, more open minded, more aware and less intolerant.
Remember: “Men are respectable only as they respect”
Sorry but hubs must be original and Should be entered ANSWERING THE REQUEST link.
For more info on how to join a hubmob please check http://hubpages.com/hub/What-is-a-HubMo … o-join-one
I hope to see you joining in
Here's my entry:
http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Princess-In … l-Marriage
Interesting topic worthy of exploration, also lots of scope - second one on the way...
Some people just don't know when to quit lol...
following RedElf (something it seems I am doing regularly) here is my entry for submission
a quick peek at the man behind the piano...an entertainer I grew up watching, enjoying, and missed when he was gone
Blunt hub about LGBT issues and why it's important we work together for it to not be an issue anymore.
http://hubpages.com/hub/Gay-Celebrities … Elton-John
another icon - loved the article...wish I could have used the images
Wow this is a heavy one...will take some thinking on the issue
This topic is a Big Nuisance. I published my opinion and followed all ruled. Did not use any single “Adult Word”. It was neater than many of the Photo Hubs published here. There are people publishing Hubs on Bra and Panties and there Hubs Tops the HOT and BEST Hubs list. My Hub was cleaner than those.
Now you say “It Needs Revision”. OK, I have deleted the Hub.
To be fair, guidebaba, you did use a lot of "adult" words in forms such as @ss... The automated system may be set up to catch these sorts of tricks. I have done so on spam/adult content filters for a couple websites I have.
http://hubpages.com/hub/Coming-Out-Of-T … ou-Are-Gay
great topic - thanks again princessa for the great fodder
would be nice for a few more hubbers to enter, but here's mine, anyway
I was upset to see the answers to this hub mob were being hidden because of downvoting. This time around it sounds like people downvoted those hubs on purpose because of prejudice. I have never seen that many downvoted hubs on a hub mob, and I think something is fishy about that.
Definitely fishy... I don't see why a hub on Elton John should get so many down votes. There are a couple of answers that deserve the down votes just because they are not answering the requests but for the rest there is no reason. But...they will have the last laugh. Just because the answers are hidden the hubs are still there and they will get the traffic.
Sorry, I'm a bit new to this - where are they not showing up? They are on my RSS feed...And what is "down-voting to hide them"?
Hey there -- I was coming by to comment just that. How on earth did those hubs get so many down votes in such a short time span... Isn't it ironic that a hub mob on LGBT issues gets "hate votes". Shesh.
This is going to be a touchy subject. Cris A and I were discussing this topic on one of my recent hubs. I noticed that particular hub has been my lowest scoring hub ever. With that being said, I'm in for the ride. I was going to make a hub about this subject anyway. Now I have an excuse to give this thought my concentration.
I personally would like to address GLBT issues in a challenge, but after reading many of the posts it seems there may not be interest in what we may have to say about life, love, and feelings for another person of the same sex. Our world is not that much different from ( and I hate to say the word "straight") the majority. We live. We pay taxes for property and schools. We fund social security. Yet, many find a problem with our lifestyle, either religious or personal, and those who criticize have no idea who we really are. or make an effort to know us.
I'm in, if I can find this post by morning........
Come on in, the water's fine - well... there's the odd little biter in it, but don't let that stop you. The worst can happen is that they might actually learn something, lol. At least, we live in hope
Don't let a few bigoted Hubbers let you stop writing what you want to write. You are writing for the world, not just Hubpages.
Obviously this posting has "offended" the sensibilities of some hubbers...waaa...I just wish they were adult enough not to play silly games by voting down the hubs simply because they don't agree with the subject matter.
Very petty and juvenile
It would seem, by the lack of eager participants, that this topic is a little too provocative for most?
Here's my contribution~
http://hubpages.com/hub/God-vs-Gays-Pro … s-Vendetta
It is difficult, this topic, for most of us to address, but that doesn't mean that it should stay in the closet.
I agree - I'm not well versed in the topic, but I feel I have something to contribute
Statistically we have 11 official entries gathering more than 250 views a day, and that is only two days after the topic was posted!
On top of that, some of the HubMobsters who joined in this week’s HubMob, have the added bonus of having their hubmob hub featured on the LGBT category page, have a look:
Gay Women in Straight Marriages - The Princess In The Tower by RedElf
Gay Celebrities and Icons - The Many, Amazing Glasses of Sir Elton John also by RedElf
The Original Lesbian Dating Sites By Lissie
Liberace - Consumate Performer and Gentleman By Enelle Lamb
The Price of Hate: Violence Against LGBT People Around the World By kerryg who also features as as Featured Author in this specific category.
Do not let prejudice and downvoting discourage you! Your hubs are still part of the RSS feed and as you can see some of them are even on the main page for this category.
This topic is indeed controversial. Hope mine will not create any commotion.
How will you know if your husband is gay!?!
I have one question.
Can you link in the hub to other relevant hubs you've written? My hub in contribution to the Hubmob would basically segue from the other hubs I've been writing on sexuality as a whole.
Whew. After careful review of this forum and the hub on HubMobbing and tons of editing and drinking lots of Gatorade and smoking quite a bit of cigarettes....
I introduce my first HubMob! I'm pretty sure I did all the requirements, but feel free to totally slap me upside the head with a duck and tell me what I gotta do.
Looking at Bisexuality
So great to see more hubbers joining in. YAY - only in silence is there defeat...
Whew, a big sigh of relief there. I have to say that after I published it, I went back and edited it twice more. It was a bit nerve-wracking to hit that 'Publish' button.
Princessa, thank you! I'm glad it meets all the requirements. Aww, that graphic is adorable. Again, thank you!
Alright, must read the rest of the Hubmobbers. Cheers!
I have a question, I posted this Hub some time ago and writing another on the issue seems a bit redundent. Is it to late to add it as an entry?
Hi, Previous hubs CANNOT be added to the HubMob, sorry. To enter the HubMob you MUST start your hub clicking on the ANSWER THE REQUEST link that I posted here, that way you hub gets automatically added to the HubMob RSS feed.
However, you can write a new hub and link it to your old one.
I hope that helps and hope to see you joining in
Okay here's my take on this issue -- this time in poetry
Oh, dayzeebee - what a lovely hub...I'm so glad to have finally met you.
Here's my contribution:
here's my offer on bisexuality:
Just a little pet-peeve of mine! And a great resource that is doing something to change it!
Great Posts HubMobbers
Keep the good Hubs coming, and just in case you wonder where I am over the weekend, I'll be away to the beach for a parachuting weekend
See you Monday morning. Have a great weekend everybody.
As London Gay Pride 2009 is in full swing just now, I thought I would make sure that this great annual event got some extra publicity.
Finally, I have the hub up!
HubMob of LGBT Issues
Great job, everybody! I'm sure we'll have some more before the weekend's over.
Here's mine. http://hubpages.com/hub/Will-I-Date-a-Lesbian
Thanks Shirley! By the way, would it be alright if I make a late entry to the cartoon hubmob? I still would like to write about Dora the Explorer and Go Diego Go. Hahaha
Here's mine -- http://hubpages.com/hub/One-of-the-Boys women who prefer the freedom of being one of the guys
I finally finished mine! http://hubpages.com/hub/Am-I-Lesbian-Bi … t-Curious?
Dumb type question from dumb type hubber
How on earth do I "answer" the request? I click on the link provided by Princessa, then "Answer", and I get a little window... what's that about. Help por favor! :-)
Oh well, wrong time of day to post this question. Pity, I don't think I'll be on time to get into the hubmob. Some other time, maybe
Edited to add: All right, I've seen how! A tad too late, but will see if I can jump into the wagon later in the day. Doubt I'll have the time anymore, but at least I know how if I do!
Hi Elena, sorry I wasn't here to answer your question, I was away for the weekend. I see that you managed on your own I hope that you decide either to do a late entry for this HubMob or to join the new HubMob -I should be posting the new topic in a couple of hours. Just make sure you follow all the steps to join in and if you have any more questions please let me know, I should be around today.
Elena, if you still want to do that hub, I can add it to the HubMob hub. That is allowed now but be sure to let me know, I won't likely see it otherwise.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to last week's Welsh HubMob, the response was amazing, 47 hubs published in a week. Most of us who were not familiar with Wales and its enormous influence to the USA and worldwide culture in general, have learnt a few things last week. Hopefully...

Good morning everyone. To start this week I want to thank all the HubMobsters who took part in last week's Hubmob. It was a difficult topic but we managed a total of 47 published hubs on Domestic Violence. I noticed that for some HubMobsters it was a therapeutic week where...

For this week's HubMob, I have decided to cover a topic that is truly close to many people's hearts - their pets. I have never really been a pet owner, but as I meet more and more people I realize the huge role that they play in the lives of others around me. So, this HubMob is basically a way for...

This week's HubMob has taken more of a consumer, money-spending, self-indulgent shift, which is totally OK with me. You see, this week's HubMob Topic of Products, Products And More Products! Hub about a product that you love or that other people love is designed to appeal to that inner mall-loving,...
