No hints...yet. We're working on it.
James has rendered his verdict for the teen finalists...er, finalists on the topic of teens:
Congratulations, Stacie and ITD! Stacie wins 5 pts, Peter wins 2 for guessing the day's clue, and the leaderboard & scoreboard have been updated. Stacie Naczelnik continues her lead with 94 points!
Pooh. I figured that's what a 20 year old would pick. Ha.Guess have to work harder now...
Congrats Stacie. You deserve it. It was a good hub.
WTG Stacie and In the Doghouse!
(we'll never catch her now...)
Good job Stacie, it was a great HUB. Thanks Steph for the shout out!
(Let's try again, from the right account)
All right everyone - well, looking at the 60 eligible entries today, there were plenty of opportunities to get educated. Great stuff!
I know by now it may sound insincere when I say that the majority of entries were of great quality, but really, it is the complete truth. As usual, picking just 5 finalists was tough work. It'll be even tougher work for today's judge (and yesterday's clue host) Phat Mommy:
1. How To Survive Going Back to School by Jai Lee
2. How to Teach a Child to Knit or Crochet by Stacie Naczelnik
3. Homeschooling Through High School by Marye Audet
4. Workforce Education: Employee Motivation by Patty Inglish, MS
5. How to Prepare for Taking a Test by bethparker
We should hopefully hear within an hour or so from Phat Mommy!
Judging: Phat Mommy had this to say about the finalists on "education":
Congratulations Stacie on your 2nd-day-in-a-row win (5 pts for her)! Congrats as well to Patty's runner-up Hub, and gamergirl who guessed yesterday's clue for "education" first (2 pts to her).
The leaderboard & scoreboard have been updated, and Stacie Naczelnik is in the lead with 103 points.
Congratulations, Stacie, and only one more hub until you reach 200!! A milestone for you I am sure.
Thanks Marlo. I'm working on my 200th hub now and it is...um...different.
Hey everyone,
Well, we saw a surprising diversity in the approaches to the term "Paris" among the entries. I hope these 5 capture the creativity that the Hubbers used in tackling Paris (FYI - no one wrote about the Trojan Paris, and the capital of France narrowly beat out the blond celebutante in the number of entries):
1. Since the Treaty of Paris: A Nostalgic Look at Franco-American Relations by Peter M. Lopez
2. Ten Women Hotter than Paris Hilton by Stacie Naczelnik
3. Plaster of Paris Art Project: Magnets by Whitney05
4. Le Moulin Rouge by stephhicks68
5. Pictures of the Eiffel Tower by Angela Harris
Hubber Jaymz is supposed to be today's judge, but he has been MIA to my last two emails, so I might have to be the judge and jury today. (Unless someone not actively participating in the contest wants to judge?)
IF you are stuck guys, feel free to email me and i will judge, since i am inelligible to win a prize anyway.....jimmy
I'm online and alive (well I will be after my first coffee).
Thank you, gentlemen, both!
How about darkside this time, since jimmythejock's been judge once before?
Darkside, give me a minute and I will hyperlink the finalists above.
Sounds good to me lol, goodluck darkside, I know just how difficult it is to choose.....jimmy
Jaymz responded!
Darkside, we can schedule you to be the judge next week, if you're interested!
Thank you both, again, for being such gracious last-minute volunteers.
Thanks, darkside - we'll arrange via email with you for you to be one of our judges.
Now, for jaymz's decision:
Congratulations to Whitney05 for being today's winner of the 5 pt bonus! Congratulations as well go to Stacie for being the runner-up, and to helenathegreat for deciphering yesterday's clue - 2 pts go to her.
The leaderboard and scoreboard have been updated - Stacie Naczelnik is still in the lead, with 106 points.
Congrats Whitney!
It is a lot more fun when the scores are so close.
Congratulations Whitney and Stacie!! (just got the news....) Gotta go check out your hot hubs.
Cool! That was a last minuted idea. I'm ecstatic!!
Even more pleased that today's topic is games!! I'm having fun with this one! I just have to remember that I still have homework :-(
Congrats Stacie. You've still got me beat. :-(
Congrats to you both! I really loved both of those hubs. And yay for games!
I'm so glad I'm not eligible for the prize so I'm not tempted to compete. You guys have me exhausted just reading all the new Hubs, never mind writing them!
Unfortunately I'm physically tired with my brain wide awake.
I'm so excited about the games clue that I'm shaking and having to recheck my spelling. This one is by far my favorite yet! Which is surprising since the pets one normally would have been, but for whatever reason I really couldn't get into it.
MY brain is tired, and I'm only writing like 1/4 the hubs you're doing, Stacie!! How are you doing this?!
Whitney, give me some brain energy, and I'll give you some physical energy!
Where's Charlotte? This is her topic.
Gladly! Ha...
I don't know.. I was wondering that too. I think she mentioned yesterday she had homework and tests this weekend.
I luckily finished all but one assignment, which is due tomorrow. I don't know how to do it anyway, so something is better than turning in nothing.
I'm out of topics for games. So it's off to bed for me. See ya in the morning! :-)
Oh I'm here.
Today's topic is all mine.. but well, the problem now is deciding what to write about first!!
I have enough information and knowledge that I could honestly write fifteen or twenty hubs easily, it's just picking the direction I want to go first.
I have to sleep, though. Ugh. School on the weekends, I feel like I'm doing it backwards.
I have to warn you folks who are just waiting to see what I'm going to churn out -- you will see some interesting stuff!
Games you may never even have heard of...
and I'm shooting to wake up and get straight to Hubbing. I'm aiming for the full ten!
Though, I likely won't be chosen for the top five no matter what, since I work with today's clue host.
Glad to hear from you Charlotte! I've found that I had more topics. I thought I was just going to go along the video game route, but I found a few other things that were easy to write about.
Can't wait to see what all you pump out.
Well, didn't get the ten I wanted done.. I have four half-written hubs sitting in document files on my desktop.. lol
Now to work on food! Wooo! Another thing I love! *pats the minibuddha belly*
Darn school for cutting into my hubbing time.
Hey everyone,
Sorry about the delay - we had some really fantastic entries, so juicy and entertainingly good reads, that I strong suggest browsing through them.
That said, I had to choose 5 finalists only, and here they are:
1. Learning Games For Toddlers by amy jane
2. Game On! Playing Office Politics by stephhicks68
3. The Original 5 Games that Shaped Video Game History as We Know It by helenathegreat
4. Many Games are Based on War by Patty Inglish, MS
5. Jacques de Meulles and His Playing Card Money by Chuck
Ashtyn from Literary Illusions will be today's judge!
Good luck everyone! I'll have to check out the ones I haven't read yet.
Wow, some tough competition (as always)! Good luck to all!
Hello, everyone - Literary Illusions has chosen:
Winner: Game On! Playing Office Politics by stephhicks68
Runner-up: The Original 5 Games that Shaped Video Game History as We Know It by helenathegreat
Congratulations to stephhicks68! She wins 5 pts, along with 2 pts to MC7 for guessing "games" first yesterday.
The leaderboard and scoreboard have been updated: Stacie Naczelnik remains in the lead, now with 114 points!
WOW! Thank you!! I am thrilled and even my husband is excited (this is saying a lot!). Pinch me, please.
LOL -thanks!!
And, my goodness, I really say that with all honesty because all the hubs (including the finalists) on this topic were great!
Congrats ladies!
Steph, you know I loved your hub...so feeling that.
Helena, your hub was so interesting. I never would have thought of that angle.
Hey everyone,
Well, judging entries for yesterday's topic, FOOD, was really hard right before lunch. I find myself having lots of unusual cravings.
Without further ado, here are the 5 finalists for the day:
1. Red Velvet Cake Recipe by Angela Harris
2. Swiss Food Guide by Region by Stacie Naczelnik
3. Alton Brown - The MacGyver of Food by Patty Inglish, MS
4. A Chile-Head's Pepper Guide by amy jane
5. The Tale of the Toll House Cookie by stephhicks68
Today's judge is none other than Paul Edmondson, the CEO of HubPages!
