          When I first publish a new hub I first go to http://bit.ly and create a short link from my Hub URL that has a HubPages URL tracker within it.  Now I can track my Twitter response. Then I go to Twitter and try and catch the attention of those who follow me with an interesting tweet including the bitly link. I try and tweet it morning, noon, night and middle of the night to catch all time zones world wide. When you see your response rate dropping a lot its time to stop. One day is enough regardless....
          
          I don't have many followers really, Only about 400. But it does help a bit in the short term to get some traffic until Google indexes my hubs. I have got like 300 hub views within a day, mostly from Twitter. That was my best day so far here on HP.
