Well, I just got an email from the fellow at Hubpages..  apparently, my Outlook settings hate Hubpages emails, because I didn't get any of the three emails that were sent to me over the last week until today and..

    so..

even though I sent in my stuff by what I thought was the proper time, I was told that I'd been passed up.

I'm not sure what's shaking with it, but I'm a little less than pleased Gamergirl right now.  All the excitement just kinda drained out of it when I read the last email.

Is anyone else experiencing a lag in receiving official emails from Hubpages?  This is aggravating.  I went from being super stoked to finding out that it wasn't me anymore, which sucks.  I didn't even get the first email he sent, I only got his reply today (which looking more closely he'd sent the email two days ago, but I received it at about 8pm tonight).

    Grrr!

That sounds like your ISP rather than outlook - I used to have issues like that - I have used gmail for over 2 years and its brilliant - also you get the same email address (multiple if you want) for life ! See me an email via m profile if you want a gmail invite

    Gamergirl,

I was so excited for you.  At least you did get the Probability of it.  Maybe they will give you another chance.  Looks like they would try to check it out before moving on ahead.

Want me to talk to them for you?  Just joking.

Sorry about the let-down.  I hope you made a copy just for the memories, and the wall-plaque.

Each person who features in the newsletter is asked to nominate three people for the next one.  So it's not HubPages who chooses, it's other Hubbers.  I'm sure you'll have plenty of nominations in the future!

Sorry to hear that Gamergirl. I really was looking forward to reading what you had to say. :-(

Marissa- how does that work? I mean how do the hubbers choose?

The person who is featured in one newsletter is asked to nominate someone for the next newsletter.  You're asked to suggest three names, because of the possibility that someone won't respond or doesn't want to do it.

Gamergirl! Don't let all your good answers go to waste...hub them. I'd like to know what you have to say. Don't feel too too bad you'll get another chance. How is Sierra?

Glad to see you're back Mark.

    regards Zsuzsy

Thank you all for your kind words.  I pouted a bunch last night before bed, but woke up feeling much better about it.

I think it was great to even have been nominated, and have changed my email for hubpages to my gmail account so that *hopefully* I don't experience any odd lag in receiving official emails.

    You're all lovely.

    WELCOME BACK MARK!!!

I've checked all three email permission boxes in my profile, but never seen a newsletter. Is there something else I need to do to opt in?

casparposted 16 years agoin reply to this

Edit your profile and make sure you have checked the box for Allow Hubpages to contact you

Also, you may want to add their address to your safe list or contacts or whatever in your email.

PS Thanks for the request, chabrenas - I'm working on it!

My apologies, Gamergirl. I had sent out an email over a week ago, and another reminder this past Tuesday. When I didn't hear from you, I assumed you weren't interested, and sent the form to another Hubber.

Maybe I'll put both in next week. Be prepared for a longer-than-usual newsletter, folks smile

Yea!  I thought the newsletter was too short anyway.  How am I supposed to procrastinate at work when the newsletter doesn't take very long to read?

    Yea Gamergirl!

Hopefully now that my email settings are diverting all hubpages email to my gmail.com account, I'll be able to read these fantastic newsletters I keep hearing about..

and see my own words!  hehe

Thanks everyone, and especially Jason, for being super sweet.
