I LOVE Thai food.  :-)  I'm not familiar with Middle-Eastern cuisine but Mexican and Italian get top marks, too.

Middle Eastern food (Greek/Turkish/Lebanese/Arabic/Israeli) is really delicious, too. Hummus, tabouli, babaghanoush, and falafel are some of my personal favorites. Some of the flavors aren't entirely unlike Mexican, if you like that.

I agree entirely with livelonger - but I would also include Spanish food into my list of favorites.

I grew up eating Mexican food (my best childhood friend's family was from Mexico), so I've always loved it.  But, I don't eat it much anymore (my Polish--meat and potatoes--husband isn't super fond--I'm not super fond of meat and potatoes, being  vegetarian, so we compromise).

Other favorites:
Indian
Chinese
Japanese
Thai
Vietnamese
Korean

And...anything from the chocolate food group!

I think we need another Hub explaining all of this! I know what haggis is, and tablet because you wrote a Hub with a recipe for it, but the other ones I'm afraid are completely lost on me!

Have you ever tried bigos? (You can make it vegetarian) Pierogi ruskie (cheese, potatoes & onions) or Pierogi z kapusta i pieczarkami (with cabbage & mushrooms)?

I was not a big fan of Polish cuisine when I lived in Poland, but those were the standouts for me.

And actually, in my tiny town and a nearby tiny town, I actually had *excellent* wood-fired pizza! smile

Malaysian?

I've tried Indonesian and I like a few dishes like gado-gado. Not a whole lot, though, for vegetarians. When I lived in Holland, there were a lot of Indonesian restaurants and a rijsttafel is fun when you're in a group.

Whoa, sorry I'm late, guys.  Major insomnia has kind of taken me out of commission for the most part...

Food.  Best food ever=lumpia.  If you've never had Filipino food, you haven't lived.

Thai is excellent, too.  And Indian.  And Italian (the real stuff, none of that Olive Garden nonsense).

I'm hungry now.  And tired.  Thanks a lot, Lincoln.

I once lived in San Francisco and also in Seattle. I love Chinese and Vietnamese   food with a passion but on the east coast the food is just not the same as the west coast.  No where near as good. In San Francisco there was a small little Vietnamese  cafe just off Market Street that I miss so bad. The spring rolls there were so good and you know you can not get Tsingtao Beer ( Chinese Beer ) on the east coast. I don't know why. To me it is better than Heineken and that is saying something. In Seattle you could get such good Chinese and Vietnamese Food. I am going to have to make a trip to the west coast soon.

Tu Lan on 6th Street? Julia Child & Herb Caen made mentions of it back in the 80s and it's still very popular.

Korean is nice. Vietnamese I've had a little and liked it. Indian not so much. Though I like the taste of curry it doesn't agree with me. Chinese yes, though not the takeaway variety. Mexican certainly. Never tried Ethiopian. Turkish YUM. Japanese MORE PLEASE!

WOW! I live in Austin Tx and have just about given up on Great Italian food :-(

After 13 years I CRAVE good Italian food and have to travel to get it. Last week a friend took me to a CHAIN restaurant here in Austin, Buca di Peppo and I was amazed! Great authentic Italian cuisine served in heaping portions (bring friends, family and a HUGE appetitie cause the portions are obscenely large)

http://www.bucadibeppo.com/locations/

Watch out for the killer CANOLI THAT SIT ON CHOCOLATE SAUCE :-)
