    Last week I went skiing in the Auvergne. We choose the skiing resort of Lioran in the Cantal Mountains or as the French call it, the Massif Cantalien. The landscape there is awesome; the ski resort of Lioran is amidst a pine forest in the biggest volcano of Europe. This French skiing station is one of the best equipped in the Auvergne. read more

    Unique to the Nation’s Capital of Ottawa, Canada, the Winterlude Triathlon requires the athlete to ice skate, cross-country ski and run during one of the coldest months of winter:  February.  As it is challenging in the sense of temperature and terrain conditions, the skating segment for the 2010 Winterlude Triathlon will be 8 km, the cross-country skiing segment will be 5 km followed by a 5 km run through the snow. read more

    Curling is becoming more well known since the advent of the Internet and especially since the awesome 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games that First Nations hosted as equal partners with other national sponsors. They televised more of the sport of curling than before and we were able to learn about it from TV. It is like shuffleboard on ice with longer, smoother, gliding follow through. I love it! read more

    The biathlon is a competitive winter sport that tests the skills of athletes around the world.  It is a test of one's strength and endurance as you race against time, competitors and yourself through a combination of cross country skiing and marksmanship.  As you ski, your heart pumps vigorously which in turn tests your marksmanship as you shoot at targets over 50 m distances.
