I'm sorry to report that our friend Pamela Oglesby (Pamela99) is in hospice care. I heard from one of her sons yesterday.
Oh, Linda. This is so distressing! My prayers to out to Pam and family. Please keep us posted.
Ahh, She's such a sweetie. She and her family are in my prayers.
I am saddened to hear this. I wish her and her family guidance during this time.
Omg! Pamela is a wonderful person I know online. I include her in my prayers. I hope she will still recover. Thanks Carb Diva for sharing this.
This is so sad and disturbing.
I had noticed her absence on HubPages, since a long time.
Wishing her good health and speedy recovery. Praying for her!
Thank you Linda for letting us know.
That is very sad, Linda. I knew she had not been well recently, and her and her husband had been struggling after recent bouts of COVID.
I am wrenched to hear about Pam's decline in health and wish her and her family and friends comfort from God and community.
Jerry Lee Lewis said in an interview I heard years ago that in his mind/dreams he could not stop passing by the caskets. I am beginning to feel the same way. I still have some online friends, but all my relatives are gone, my last in-person friend died in 2017, and many from Hubpages have died since I have been here.
I grieve with all here who have wished Pam well and I wish for her a gentle transition, if healing is not forthcoming, in Jesus's name.
What a beautiful response to Pamela's condition. She is a true friend and a lovely supporter of her fellow writers.
I second your prayer and offer an Amen.
Sorry, I forgot to offer condolences to you on the loss of your in-person friend. That is the same year I lost my best friend as well. We'd known each other for over 40 years. It's never the same again.
Thanks! It is a strange experience. I also knew my friend for over 40 years.
So sorry to hear about that, Linda. Hope her condition improves. My thoughts and prayers go out to her. May God bless her and heal her.
One’s condition does not improve in hospice. Please try to be more respectful.
That's not the way hospice works here.
People get on hospice alot just so they no longer need to go to doctor's offices.
Sometimes after a couple of years or evens months, they are able to get off of hospice care.
It isn't simply a death sentence...it is an offer of help.
I don't know what Pamela's condition is...but I'm holding onto hope.
surovi99 -- I had a patient that went to hospice for six months, was discharged, and then fully recovered from cancer. This does not occur often, but it does occur.
So sad to hear this, thanks for letting us know Carb Diva. Our time on earth is fleeting and we mustn't take our short time, our moment, for granted.
Wow, this is so sad. I remember Pam from when I first started on Hubpages about 12 years ago. My heart goes out to her and her family.
What! What happened to her? I am so sorry to hear this. My prayers and blessings for Pamela.
Thanks Linda for letting us know.
It breaks my heart to hear this sad news. The last thing I heard from her was about her and her husband finally getting to come home after a long bout with covid.
She was so happy to be back home and see her new kitty.
My prayers go out to her and her family.
Its a sad tale. She writes more about health. And I'm wondering how a sickness can take her down? Is it an accident? Nevertheless, my heart goes out to her.
@Carb Diva, any further news, and information about Pamela's health? Me and her intereact a lot when she 'publish' a health article. Hope she's responding to medical care and treatment? Praying to God to restore healng to her mind and body. Amen.
Thank you for sharing this, Linda. The HubPages team is saddened by this news. Pamela is a wonderful asset to the community and a prolific writer on a wide variety of topics. She was Best All-Around Hubber in the 2021 Hubbie Awards! Sending Pamela and her family thoughts of strength and comfort.
My thoughts and best wishes to Pamela, as well as her family and friends!
Sad news, indeed! Pamela has given us so much information to make us aware of, and heal from a variety of diseases. Her articles were always so helpful. Praying comfort, strength and peace of mind for her and all her family.
Oh no, this is sad news. Keeping Pam and her family in my thoughts and prayers.
So sad to hear that. She's in my prayer. I hope she gets better very soon.
Awww, so sorry to get this very sad news. Pamela’s presence made the forums what they are today. So generous in commenting and supporting others. Her sweetness will be missed. Hoping she’s comfortable as she prepares to transition. God bless her.
So sorry to hear this sad news about this "famous" Hubber! I wish for peace for her and her family at this time!
My thoughts and best wishes go out to the family as well. Sorry to hear about Pamela99.
Sending love and prayers to a very special lady and her family. This breaks my heart to hear this sad news.

It's true, Hospice Care is final care. Sadly, I have gone through it with too many people in a few short years. I was just at another funeral this past Saturday.
If people know of people coming out
of Hospice Care and leading productive lives, then it was obviously premature. I only share this so that no one is given false hope.
Thank you for this nuanced information, AB. My understanding is that hospice care signifies the end of life… but so does palliative care…
So, perhaps the decision to choose hospice depends upon the understanding of the family. I am not certain.
Thank you. It's enlighting, or rather an enlightment.
I am very sad to hear this news about Pamela. She has been a shining star here on HubPages for many years, and she has written so many informative articles. Sending good wishes and comfort her way, plus the same to her family.
Heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with her and her family. That is so sad to hear.
I'm so very sorry to learn about Pamela's decline in health and my thoughts and prayers go out to her family. I will be 56 years old this year and it seems that this type of news is becoming more and more prominent - which is to be expected, but it's still not easy. I'm not on HP very much anymore but I have become familiar with many of the profiles and monikers over the last 14 years... ugh, I don't know what I'm saying anymore... I just wish everyone the best and my heart goes out to Pamela and her family.
I just read that Pamela passed away on January 26th and a service will be held on February 17.

Earlier this evening, my daughter went to the ER because she was having terrible stomach cramps. When I arrived, she was in a hospital bed holding a dead baby. It was a perfectly formed, beautiful baby girl, about 10 inches long. I didn't even know she was pregnant. We're all heartbroken. I can't...

In what is absolutely the LAST thing I and what family I have left need to hear at this point in time - my father is back in the hospital with sepsis. He's been fighting an infection in the bones of his foot for ten years now, he is severely diabetic...and they're finally going to amputate his...

I just found out that hubber Wesman Todd Shaw passed away last year. RIP Todd. Many were fans of Todd's writings. Loved guitars and wrote some great hubs on music. Condolences to his family and friends.

I am sure most of you knew Mary Hyatt. Sadly she passed on today, and I for one will really miss her. I loved her hubs, and her humor too. She had a dog named Baby, and there were many hubs telling us about her, and her funny stories too. Her daughter Holly asked me to let you know. So here's to a...
