Hello Everyone, I hope you all had a great week.  For me it has been a very good week, my ankle seems to have healed perfectly  -it even passed the high heel test- and my arm cast finally came off, just leaving me with a few sessions of re-education before I can start using my hand again.

Last week we managed a total of 15 Hubs, not too many, as some of you remarked, but they are all top quality hubs which are already featuring on the front page of the finance and parenting category

This week I am in the mood for partying so why don't we go for a fun topic like Performing arts?  You will be able to hub about your favourite music and composers, your favourite dances and how to do them.  If you play an instrument you can also hub about it and let us discover your "secret" talent and if you are really in for some fun why not hub about more adventurous performing arts like juggling, acrobatics and other fun activities.

This week you also have the opportunity to feature in a category front page.  Performing arts is a category that needs filling up, so if you write a good quality hub on the topic your hub can win a front page place on the topic you choose.  Even better, if you create a few hubs on a topic you might have a whole page just featuring YOUR hubs on that specific topic.  For example:
    Write 3 more hubs on:
Acrobatics, Folk dance, orchestras, or marching bands and you can have half a page just featuring your hubs on that specific topic.

Some ideas for a hubmob hub on performing arts are:

    History of Performing Arts
    Acrobatics
    Busking
    Composers & Musical Composition
    Conductors & Orchestras
    Dance
    Ballet
    Ballroom Dancing
    Belly Dancing
    Dance Competitions
    Folk Dance
    Improvisation
    Jazz
    Latin Dance
    Street Dance & Hip Hop
    Swing & Boogie
    Tap Dance
    Drums & Percussion
    Electronic Music
    Juggling
    Magic
    Marching Bands
    Music Theory
    Musicals
    Opera
    Stage & Stagecraft
    Theatre

To join this week's HubMob please follow the steps below:

    1. YOU MUST START YOUR HUB CLICKING THIS LINK.  Choose the answer the Request green button .  Choose the MAKE A HUB ABOUT IT option.

    2. Choose a relevant title for your Hub to get a good ranking in the search engines, AVOID starting your title with "Weekly HubMob"

    3. Include the HubMob RSS Feed in your hub: http://hubpages.com/request/19596/?rss

    4. Add the HubMob graphic to your hub so that everyone who reads it will know that it is part of the official HubMob topic of the week.

    5. After you publish your HubMob Hub, come back to the forum and post a link to your hub with a brief description of what you wrote about and why.  Take advantage of the free publicity!

If you are still not sure about what is a HubMob and the benefits of taking part in one I created this guide
    http://hubpages.com/hub/What-is-a-HubMo … o-join-one
please feel free to come up with any questions if you have any doubts left.

Hi Princessa, sorry to find out you had hurt yourself but glad to hear you are on the mend.

Decided to give the Hubmob a try and as the subject is performing arts it had to be a hub about my one and only trip to Wigan Casino, voted the best disco in the world ahead of New York's Studio 54, hard to believe for a little working town in the north of England. Lot of people still thinking about those days and still want to know all about them.

Hope everyone enjoys my Northern Soul and Wigan Casino, the worlds best disco

Would a poem about dance/life be appropriate?

I was also thinking about HS dance teams, but it would be a bit negative.

Is it possible to remove the Striptease article from the feed at least that appears on my hub? I mean, I'm trying to represent Irish dance and some of its organizations as clean and family-friendly.

Not to sound prudish or anything....

    1. Princessa profile image80
Princessaposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Hi Valerie, I have checked your hub and the Striptease hub does NOT appear on your feed.

In any event I cannot manually add or remove any hubs from the RSS feed, that is done automatically.  Striptease is one of the sub categories in the Performing Arts category, so the subject is allowed to be in the hubmob.

What you might be able to do -I am not sure if we are still able to do this- is to play around with your feed and change the RSS feed from "best" to "latest" hubs published.

Thanks for the plug, Princessa!  And double drat, because I missed this post and I just published a Hub on how to use Zills in belly dancing - would have been a perfect opportunity.

Hey Marisa, why don't you write a "big hub" including all your belly dancing hubs, I find them so good that it would be a shame not to see them here.

It would be really helpful if an end date and time (with time zone) could be given at the start of each HubMob week, so we know the exact time it ends.  Over here in Oz, it's hard to work out when Monday is for you!

      1. Shirley Anderson profile image71
Shirley Andersonposted 14 years agoin reply to this

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the new topic officially starts at midnight PST on Sundays, however Princessa usually puts it out on Monday.

It doesn't matter when you write it, Marisa.  The changed policy a few months (?) ago allows me to add your hub at anytime, whether the topic is current or not.  Just let me know if you ever want to add a hub.  You still have to go through the request link, use the feed, etc.

lo0ol Shirley, sorry big_smile...why don't u write your own, i don't see a problem in having more than 1 hub about this topic, plus i wanna see it from a westerner prespective, i didn't think that you might like this kind of music

Okay, I have to admit.  I was planning on sitting this one out.  Had I not run across a video on-line I would have.  Anyway, the art of sand animation has fascinated me since I first saw it in 1998.  After running into another video today I decided to dig a little deeper.  Turns out it actually isn't very deep. :-)
