Unfortunately, I was in a cranky mood all morning. But then the sun came out and I was better. We had another beautiful sunny day here and it's supposed to be a sunny weekend.
I was awakened today by the ringing of my phone. It was my brother telling me that my mother had to be rushed to the hospital, via ambulance, from her job. At first, I was in shock, then I was just stressed. I have an 11 month old daughter and my husband was out with our only car. The good thing that happened today was that, it turned out, my mom had just had an anxiety attack and collapsed from exhaustion... This is good because she has an on-going heart condition and it was not a heart attack. My dear husband rushed home and then rushed to the hospital to make sure she was okay. My mother is okay, and I got the chance to talk to my brother and my sister. We cried and reminded each other how much we love each other. In spite of the bad beginning, I was blessed today.
So sorry to hear about your mom Davina. My mom has congestive heart failure and has had a couple of heart attacks and had open heart surgery so I can relate to those phone calls and I know how stressful and gut wrenching it all is.
To think of your mom and how scary of a situation like that is for her I am sure as well.
Have peace today and I will pray for her recovery and for you and your family's peace through it all.
I woke up sick this morning and had to stay home from work, but I'm starting to feel somewhat better.
My two little girls had a wonderful day at school. They were both wishing that it was not the weekend. I am still alive and can still do the thing I like best. WRITING!!!!
I had a pretty good day today. My SO took me out to lunch today for my birthday and when I came back to work after lunch my job threw me a little party and we all ate cheesecake!
Happy Birthday Louidam, and many happy returns. I know you had a great day.
Me? Well i can't say i had a great day. Was busy doing some drawings for my work on my PC, while glancing at my laptop checking out the forums(and adsense), trying to find out what's hot on HP today and how much i earned.
I had most of the day to myself!!! I love alone time & haven't had it in ages
I got out of my friends house whom I slept over. It smells like guinea pig and dog piss and I always get really itchy there.
Then, I got home and immediately took a nice shower.
Long story short... I had to dress up in a High School Tiger mascot outfit and dance around my kids Elementary School to get them pumped up for a fundraiser we're doing (a Jog-a-thon). Oh, yeah, just to add insult to injury, I danced to the tune of "Eye of the Tiger". Yeah, that's right. Laugh if you want. It was actually VERY fun... The kids loved it. Had to then stand around in the thing for an hour DRIPPING sweat. Very hot costume. I have all new respect for team mascots. What a hoot it was. None of the kids knew it was me, not even my own kids! GREAT DAY!
Had the day off from work, spent the day with my husband, writing and cooking. Made scalloped potatoes which are my favorite comfort food, and it came out great. Listened to music in the evening and munched on chips and salsa. My kind of day!
Hal Licino wrote a hub about me
http://hubpages.com/hub/Hub-1-300-In-Praise-Of-Misha
I am so speechless, i can't posts a comment on it...
I just read the hub. It's a great tribute to you Misha. I'll be careful not to antagonize / attack you because doing so will surely get Hal's ire up.
Come on, he is very soft really, don't be afraid.
I think you're right with him being soft. I had a conversation with him before in one of his hubs. He's a great writer and a great guy.
Soft??? Anyone who calls me soft gets hanged by there thumbs!
I'll hoist ye over the yardarm, ye sorry bilge-rat... Go walk the PLONK, ye yellow-bellied blowfish... I'll send ye to Davy Jones' locker, ye salty sea bass... I'll feed ye to the sharks, ye scurvy blowfish... I'll rip out yer heart an' dance to the beat, ye scalawag bucko!
Yo Ho, Yo Ho! A Pirate's Life for Me!
LOL who? Li'l ol me? *points finger at Misha* but me Captain, Misha was the one who brought it up first
Then I'll feed ye both to tha sharks! Yo Ho!
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum! Pieces of eight! Pieces of eight! Remember?
Aye, I canna' remember where we buried the map to the treasure... ye didn't put it in QUICKSAND did ye? Arrrrgghhh...
I had a lovely day, today.
It was warm and sunny most of the day, and I had lunch in Gray's Inn gardens with a couple of mates.
And this evening we came down to Kent for a weekend with my parents and sisters, Isaac was delighted.
My daughter cooked for me while my soon to be son in law installed cabinet locks to keep the kitty out of the cabinets and now I'm enjoying a nice adult beverage that my soon to be son in law brought over.
What a lovely thread
I got a B on my organic chemistry test. I studied in the library until 3:30am. So it is nice to know my hard work paid off
I got to go downtown this evening and watch my favorite Piping Band from the Wooster College. My neighbor Jen fed me dinner and we went to the Ice Cream shop for desert and then I got to see a great portrait of Misha the Great! LOL
The Dunkin Donuts stand where I work was closing up for the day and a friend of mine saved a few Dunking Donuts for me. Yeah Baby!
Congrats all on your big and small accomplishments today.
I got my 1000 page views medal and my personal hubber score hit 90+ for the first time. I have 5 or so hubs w/ ***** time on page view.
I awoke with my children telling me they love me; thanked God for all I have in life and rested for almost an hour before it was time to get ready for work.
Work was great; I love my staff and customers...helped a gentleman save his home from being taken for over-due taxes...I love to help people.
My dog's health is getting alot better; thank you! Worried that we were going to lose him today! Again I thank God!
Great thread UW. I just came back from my class where my students presented their projects. I was pleasantly surprised by their presentations. They really took the time and the effort to give good ones. I ended up giving them high grades (higher than the usual ones I give) . Gives me great pleasure to see them go to all this trouble for my class.
Got my 200th fan today.
I thought Hubpages gave a medal for that.
I woke up cold and way too early - because all the windows in the house are still open - so I felt like I was getting a cold. The day turned into a beautiful, 70-degree day. At the end of the work day I had a surprise visit from my son, who got a car he's been needing. He was here with his father; then my sister unexpectedly showed up, so she and I went out for a light dinner and conversation. When we returned my son and his father were back, so had time alone with just the one son for a couple of hours. It turns out I wasn't getting a cold after all - so, all in all, a very nice day.
My son called me from school to say Hi. I went out for tex-mex with my wife.
Watched the most awesome sunset with the men I love (hubby, son, dad). Good topic!!
This is really cool to peak inside Hubbers' private lives this way!
My day was a lot about connecting with people -- good interactions with business colleagues. Yeah!
Spent some quality time here on HP interacting pleasantly with other hubbers. Read some great poetry and hubs. Nice tribute by Hal to Misha!
Met a good friend for coffee in the afternoon. Lovely to sit in a garden oasis with fountains and art objects all around.
It's 9:26pm and not a troll in sight. Ahhhh. Life's blissful.
Yeah, I agree. This is an interesting thread. It's nice to know of people taking time out to reflect on the good things that happened to them. As for me...I joined HubPages today !
simple things: Made it to work in time, even though I over slept...someone on the bus gave me their seat..... a friend called and we laughed over silly everyday things...everyone enjoyed dinner...I got to hug my kids at night... fell asleep just when I wanted to....
Won four straight games of Scrabble on Facebook today against formidable opponents!
I slept last night crying. But when I woke up today, I felt so much better than I did yesterday. Yaaaayyyy
Now back to the topic of this forum. Well this morning I picked up my electric drill and discovered that the re-chargeable battery had completely gone kaput. It did serve me well for 9 years though.
It needed 14.5 volts of DC to function. I had several mobile phone chargers but the output of each of them was insufficient to operate the driller. Then, believe it or not I just came across a step-down transformer which powered my very first printer. It had an output of 13.3 volts!!!
I quickly got about linking the DC supply to my driller and ... IT WORKED!
We then relocated a shelf which was in the kitchen! Success indeed!
I woke up a Pirate Today and saw I Broke a thousand hits to my hubs in one day!!!! Victory is mine, where's the Rum
I woke up to a beautiful cool fall day today, one of my young barn kitties brought me a headless mouse as a gift, bless her heart, all last week I was watching her trying to learn the ropes from her Mama...this time she was successful and willing to share (eeeeek).
Today is better than yesterday. I just bathed my baby. She loves the bath.
My dog licked me through the screen window, does he love me or what
My other cat snuggle up with me this morning while the spoiled one was out. She normally does'nt do this?! Ohhhh...
And you gals wonder why we guys hesitate to do stuff for ya!
Tackled getting all 8 tires off of the semi trailer we use for storage--County says it hadda be done or Darth Vader would come a-callin'. Not as easy as it sounds, but got it done before the sun went down and then turned it into a Hub.
I won't be suspicious, I'll be grateful. LOL my husband cooks better than me .
The first thing is kinda very private but lets just say very early in the day I spent quality time with my wife.
My printer ran out of ink before i could print my sermon so I had to preach from my laptop today, but the congregation seemed to have been blessed by it. A few even requested follow up information.
At lunch time I had the opportunity to encourage at least two persons in need. Yes, I love to help people.
Then in the evening my heart was filled with joy at watching my son grow up. I have to be doing my best to avoid spoiling him more. He had just done a march with the Pathfinders, and was hungry and tired. It was his turn to wash dishes so I washed up for him. I just adore my family, God bless them.
The good thing that happened to me today is that I woke up this morning and no longer spoke like a pirate! And I could see out of both eyes!
It's Sunday -- and I have the WHOLE day to myself -- no kids, dogs, cats, animals or even housework!!! What am I doing? ha ha ha, hubs and more hubs! Well, for another hour, then off to the great outdoors!

I've been slowly going up the scale with my page views, to the point where my daily views are usually close to 350 total per day. All of a sudden today it began dropping, and is now down to 241.Is that normal? I can't find any message that there was a problem with my pages, and some of...
