   Hello everyone,
   
   Paul announced in a post last week that we had worked out an agreement with eBay to allow Hubbers to earn via the eBay Partner Network as part of the HubPages Earnings Program. We are all set now, and now you can go and apply to the eBay Program:

   Please note that Hubbers with an existing ePN ID will have to sign up through the same link for a new HubPages-issued ID before the first week of November, when all earnings will have to be run through the new IDs.

         I actually found (before) signing up for the eBay partner program tedious even though I had sites, so I just ignored it when I got frustrated- the new eBay program entry point through hp made all the difference, I clicked a link, approved them sending them info, and in 2 days was approved- time to put those capsule sinto my hubs- !

         SimeyC, We are all in this together waiting to be approved. You can only continue to use the existing ePN affiliate code until the end of October. Starting in November, eBay will no longer pay for affiliates through HP that were not signed up via HP. That's why HP negotiated these arrangements to include eBay in the HubPages Earnings Program, so we can continue to benefit from our eBay capsules.

               No, it will not be cancelled. You can continue to use it on other sites.
               
               My guess is that if you have an ePN ID in good standing now, then it shouldn't be hard to get a HubPages-specific ID, too.

                  Thanks Jason! That was my question, too! I have an existing eBay account with a 100% rating that I wouldn't want to lose or jeopardize!                SimeyC - I see no reason why eBay should cancel existing accounts as long as you keep using it in your own website. They do cancel accounts if dormant, however. I also use eBay in my own business site and plan to continue doing so. But I like the fact that eBay earnings from HubPages capsules will now be included with our other HubPages Earnings programs. It helps get to the payout quicker.
               
               Presently we'll have three ways to earn in the HP Earnings program... HP Ads, eBay, and in a few days, the AdSense Custom Javascript.  I love how proactive HP is with adding new ways to earn.

      I signed up immediately, it was easy and only took a few minutes. I have read the tutorials and preceding comments and have not seen the answer to a question I have. What happens when the Ebay item sells? Does the link automatically expire or must we go in, remove it and add another? And how would we know? If I have missed the answer, I apologize.          Hi Hypenbird!  Unlike Amazon, you can't choose a specific item on eBay, just a category or keyword of an item you'd like to display.  So unless you are choosing something that is really rare, you should always have products displayed.  If there isn't an item to be shown, it will be blank.  I'm glad you were able to sign-up easily!  Let us know if you have any other questions.

      What about ePn text links, NOT Capsules?
      
      I sometimes use a straight text link to ebay in the text of a hub. Usually it's an Epn referral link to  an ebay account sign-up page. Will the ePn link which uses my own ePn account referral still work?
      
      I understand all ebay referrals using capsules must have the new HP ePn account number, but what about straight non-capsule text links?

         We are not really sure. It's possible that eBay will deactivate affiliate links through old ePN accounts if you got them by applying via us.

      does the customer have to buy the item on the capsule or do we get credit if they enter Ebay via our capsule but buy something not listed on the Hub?

         Not necessary. eBay will decide the quality of click. If I enter through your ePN and bid on an item. However, someone else later bid more than me which turn out to be impossible for me to cross. It means to say, my bidding for that particular item didn't mean a sale for eBay, but that definitely helped eBay to get more since another user bid more than me. That is quality of click, and there is a complex algorithm to calculate this.

      Yes, you will have to apply separately for each of your accounts, and each account will get a different ID.

    That was easy! Interesting rules eBay has. Can't click our own links, same as AdSense. That means we can't order things from eBay via HP capsules.

    Here in India, I am not getting verification code on my mobile number. I tried this several times, even with different networks and different numbers. It's been four hours now and there is no any verification sms on my mobile.

       Problem Solved! I used 2nd option to verify my mobile phone number. i.e Call. I guess my mobile numbers are on Do Not Disturb (DND) list. So, I never received verification sms. This is because of TRAI's new rules and regulations!

    So when I went to check my earnings today I found  E-bay and Hub Ads  but no Adsense or  Amazon..
    Are they no longer available to look up through HP?
    
    and as for the E-bay capsules.. I understand we are to go back  and add them to our hubs.. When we do are we supposed to follow the same 50 word per item rule as we do with Amazon?

    Does joining Ebay mean a lot of rearranging of hub layouts. I have been busy and not had time to look into it too closely. Are there Ebay modules just as we have Amazon modules? I looked for a tutorial hub on this but was not successful to find one. Apologies if I missed it somewhere.

    Please I need help or suggest. The eBay registration seem to be easy and was going fine until I had to verify my phone number. There is the option of SMS or call. I choose call since I did not know the purpose. The call came in but it was not clear and later I can't hear anything and the call ended. I tried again to pick SMS instead but the system said I was called,yes,and confirmation given to which I have to use to complete the registration. Unfortunately I did not get it. So my registration is hanging.

    Sofs, it seems what you said was what happened to me. I pressed one and I heard nothing, it was as if the line was out but I know it was still on for sometime before it end. I wonder what confirmation to submit since I heard nothing. How did you get pass that?

    I'm excited about this. I was successful at eBay with my now closed store. I look forward to becoming associated with them again. I am envisioning new hubs based on that old business.     I have a total of 3 accounts on HP.  My wordscribe43 account was just approved by EBay.  Do I need to reapply for my other 2 accounts?  There's no option to stick in a code or anything in account settings to associate all three accounts (like you can do with Adsense, for example).  What do I do?

    Just got my HP eBay program approval and I am so happy about it...had to pump my fist and my friend was wondering why. Applying for it was so easy but after the wait I was thinking I was going to be rejected so it was so lovely to see this: Congratulations! You have been accepted into the eBay Program!     I've sold on eBay in the past; and I'm not sure what all the excitement is about here with this program.  Being an auction site, how do you provide any kind of relevant product link that isn't going to be sold/gone or expired by the time a reader arrives at your article?
    How is the eBay ad going to be "evergreen?"

       You don't pick specific items - you tell it to look for particular keywords. So if your hub is about pink bath sponges, you use _pink bath sponge_ as your keyword. When a particular bath sponge has finished its auction run, the capsule automatically refreshes that space with another pink bath sponge.

             No, you can have more than one item - I used the singular rather than the plural, because I was giving an example. Rather than keep asking questions the best thing to do is try adding an eBay capsule to one of your hubs and see what it looks like and what it does - it won't bite you.

          Who sends these approval email?

             HubPages sends the emails, but our email delivery rate is not 100%. If your status says "Active," then you were certainly accepted. (I just checked your records and you were accepted two days ago.) Congrats!
