Here in central France, Christmas makes a slow but steady appearance.  Decorations appear late and few and far between.  It is mainly the bigger cities that can afford fancy Christmas decorations in their streets and can boast Christmas illuminations.  The rest of the villages just barely illuminate their main streets.  We have no big Christmas parades or events here; instead Christmas markets are what signal the start of the Christmas festivities. read more

Growing up in New York City has been an awesome experience especially during the Christmas holiday season starting with the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. This year I'll be spending Christmas in sunny Florida enjoying a hot Christmas!
I can't imagine Christmas without the soft Christmas snow that usually covers the harsh New York streets and masses of New Yorkers rushing to get their last minute shopping in before Christmas Eve.
