   This was specifically created to post hubs.  That proves my point.  Could I start a posting specifcally created to post hubs?  I think the answer to that is a big no.  The powers that be can break the rules when it suits them.

         Essentially Pete, nobody's going to bite the hand that feeds.  Even I'm a little worried because as with you 'different rules for different folks' has always been something that leaves a slightly sour taste in my mouth, but I haven't been at HP long enough to know that saying such things is safe, and won't get you booted.  And despite this little setback I'm really starting to quite like Hubpages.

            Well, you need to read between the lines and work out what is appropriate - or not. Had a few links snipped myself, but taking it personally is not the way to go.
            
            Like I tell the people who comment negatively on my blog or hub. - I am the one with the delete button - so I always get the last word .

               Fair comment, I know what you mean, having a link <snipped> didn't bother me in the slightest, it wouldn't have brought me any benefit, it was just the fact that in the very next thread there were nearly 500 promo links, and I didn't see the RED text and warning appear there (here). lol
               
               But like you say, he who have control of that delete button makes the rules, and that's fair enough, if I wanna play by my rules I'll have to go make my own HubPages (and quite frankly I can't be arsed).

   I think the difference is that the purpose of this is for the challenge. The only other time this was done was for the HubLove contest, if I remember properly. For contests and such, it's a little different than for no reason but to post links to hubs.

   Oh, and you forgot to mention the HubMob thread where we are allowed to post links to hubmob hubs. There are special threads where you can post, but they are open to everyone who wants to contribute special challenges...hardly "different rules for different folks"

            :-) Welcome Good luck... I think you should aim for 5 a day, at least. Ha.
            
            Looking at some of the hubs posted for HubChallenge, there are some pretty bland ones on there with just maybe 300-500 words, the HubChallenge banner, and very little content to keep a reader on the page for long. If you did a bunch like that, you could pop them out real quick.  Although 100 of those would probably not be worth the effort in terms of a financial reward in the end; but hey some studies show people will click an ad if there isn't enough content to answer the question, and the ad looks more promising. So, who knows...
