Last time we made a tag that said "Hub Challenge" Not sure if Ryan will want us to change that. so that he can distinguish. he also made banners that some are putting on their hubs. I don't do that, because I think that could hurt sales.
What's your thinking on the "could hurt sales"? I hadn't considered that.
Quite frankly I think any of the banners could hurt sales. If I'm trying to sell a hand pruner and it might be distracting. They're very attractive and I do get the humor.
All my best money producing hubs were during the last challenge and they all have the gray 30 day banner on them from last time. Perhaps placement of the banner could make a difference. You could always put it under the comments.
under the comments. that might work. hadn't thought of that! always a new way of thinking posible.
There's no need to add the HubChallenge images to your Hubs, I just suggest that you use one if/when you post a blog about accepting the 30 Day HubChallenge. I mean, you can add them to your Hubs if you really want to, but there's really no need and it might look a little odd on most of them.
Count me in!! I will be starting Friday too I guess with KCC
I just tried my own link and it didn't seem to work unless they are modifying it right now....but it can be found by going to the Forums and scrolling down to the last forum about the 30 days Challenge. Click on that and it'll bring up all the forum threads that have spun off that topic. The top one is Ryan's official post.
I have to say this new Challenge has great timing. I am brand new to this site and community, have only a few hubs published, and have not earned anything as of yet. You might be wondering why this is a good thing...
For me, it will give me the chance (and motivation) to discover the true earning potential of Hubpages. The other motivator is it is forcing me to stop putting off the blog I want to create about residual income. All the framework for my blog is done, now I just need to start posting - and this gives me the perfect opportunity.
Initially I was going to start off slow, but I might as well jump right in! Guess tommrow will be day #1 for me!
It'll be a great experience FaithMarie! I participated in the last challenge and saw incredible results. One thing that helps is having your URL channels set up on Adsense so that you can monitor which hubs are bringing in the money. It may surprise you. It's not always the ones with most pageviews.
For those of you who don't know how to set up your URL channels in Adsense for each hub, here are the brief instructions.
When you have your adsense open there is a tab just above the spot where "today's earnings is" that says "adsense setup". Click that. It'll bring up a new set of tabs on the row just below where you just clicked and one of them is "channels". Click that. Right next to "custom channels" is the link "url channels". Click that. Then you'll see a darker blue line appear that says "add new url channels". It'll bring up a boxed area where you paste the URL to each of your hubs. You can do them one at a time as you finish one to post on HubPages, or you can post all of them you already have done, just be sure to post one per line. It'll list them alphabetically and from now on you can see where the money is coming in from.
OK, I'm in. I'm interested in becoming a more efficient and productive Hubber and I'm intrigued by Ryan's informative article about keywords. I've been Hubbing off and on for 15 or 16 months and would love to see the residual income increase.
I love writing and generally write for my own interest and enjoyment, but as long as I'm doing it, I sure wouldn't mind making a little more money!
For me this means putting my nose to the grindstone and getting to work, so I won't be lurking in the forums much over the next 30 days! See you all on the other side.
I am going to give it the old college try. I'm just getting into the spirit of writing hubs on the regular. So here goes.
Great idea and with 20 hubs to date making that into 50 should bump your page views and adsense quite a bit if you do good SEO content
Just joined Hub and I think this will help me get going on writing a few good Hubs and seeing what my real potential is.
Let's do it!
OK, I'm in. I've been waiting for courage, but I guess I'll go with reckless abandon instead, and jump right in. What can it hurt? Is there somewhere that we need to sign in? Or just start publishing?
Hi - and welcome everyone above! If you stick in this part of the forum and keep checking the posts you'll see what's going on!
After much thought, I've decided to join too. Count me in!
Well there you are Felicia! Glad that you've decided to join the challenge!
Ryan, how could I resist after your encouraging post on my blog.
You're good!
I'm new here, but I've done nanowrimo (national novel writing month - 50,000 words/first draft of novel from Nov 1- Nov 30), so there's hope here too!
I dont think I could handle a 100 in 30 days but 30 in 30? Thats challenging but do-able. I'm in!
Sweet! Glad that you're in, Rhianni!
Also, be sure to check out Da' Rules:

Hey it seems there are a few of the newer hubbers that I've never ever seen before, jolly good, if anyone needs any help then don't be afraid to ask...I have ginger hair, but it's ok....
I'm asking a question that's already been answered somewhere, so I apologize in advance... I remember reading SOMEWHERE that we're allowed to post our 30 in 30 hubs (no less than 5 at a time) but cannot figure out where. In this thread? Which thread? Sorry, as I know this info is available, but go figure, I'm kinda busy with the challenge and all.
I would honestly suggest that you don't post links to your Hubs unless you:
1. Have some interesting tips, advice to add with them
2. Need help with something
3. Are on fire and posting your Hubs are the only way to dowse the flames (you never know).
I just don't want these forums to be packed full of links to Hubs and not helpful conversation.
Also, remember -- if you post an update in a new thread, be sure to include the day that you're currently on in your own HubChallenge. So, something like this would work:
"Day 21 - I think I need help finding some new topics...anyone?"
I hope that makes sense...this way we can see where everyone is at, too.
Could somebody start a single thread for everyone to post their challenge hubs in? That seems easiest and least spammy.
Very good idea, when I looked at this thread its already too full. Can we have a thread for just our challenge links?
Well, we did that last time and I'm not sure what value it provided for everyone. I don't think that anyone ever really read them and I'm not sure I like the fact that we're encouraging Hubbers to post links here in the forums, which is normally a no-no.
I say that you post up thoughts, questions or anything else that you feel like you need to post. If posting a link to your Hubs truly adds value to what you post then so be it.
How does that sound?
Ryan, that makes perfect sense. Never thought about posting links being a no-no, I guess I wasn't sure since I am new to this challenge. So I won't post any links
Missed that one, Ryan. That makes sense. I suppose we pretty much know who's involved in the challenge anyway. We can follow work by looking at latest hubs.
Yes, that's what I was talking about, Ryan. I'd like to support my fellow HubChallengers by reading as many as I can. I think it would be nice to be able to readily find others work.
I suggested at some stage we have a new thread each day called Day 1, Day 2 etc to Day 30 and the threads were closed at the end of the day... Meaning a max of 30 threads...
That would make it more controllable than people randonly posting links on lots of different threads.
Maybe HP staff could also MOVE link postings into the correct thread when they arise (and I'm sure they will!)
It's already 24th of July in India and here is my first Hub on How to be a good Wife http://hubpages.com/hub/How-to-be-a-goo … -qualities
Can I just say that I CANT WAIT TO START THIS CHALLENGE TOMORROW!
Please include me in the 30 days Challenge to start tomorrow.
Thanks.
Hello Hubpages Staff
Day 1 - I have published one.
(I hope I'm in the right link to inform you. Also, if I don't have to inform you everyday I publish a Hub let me know).
I'm still trying to get the hang of this.
Cheers...
There's no need (and please don't) say every time you publish one - but general thoughts about how you are doing are good. If you check all the threads in this forum it'll give you plenty of info!
I don't remember if i've posted it in this thread yet but just in case- I'm in!
Guess I'll join in. Still not sure what I'm going to write about.
I've got all of my topics in a spreadsheet and I'm almost ready to kick off my first official Hub! This part always makes me a little nervous for some reason..kind of like when I would get when I used to wait until the last minute to write that research paper that was due the next morning.
This is going to be awesome!!
Hi HUP! I'll try this challenge too. My personal goal is 30 Hubs a calendar month, but I've missed it the last two. lol
Much success to everyone that enters this Hup 30/30 Hub Challenge! Hey, maybe some of them might be HubNuggets in the future for new writers.
Good to see you Patty and I'm sure that we'll soon see several of these HubChallenge Hubs in the potential HubNuggets list. It's just a matter of time.
I'm in. Glad to see so much good advice this time around - and also, now that I've been here a bit, more of it is starting to make sense (not all of it, yet, LOL). Keep the advice coming guys, and thanks!
Good luck and good writing!
Elf
I'm in for the 30 day challenge! I just posted my hub 1 of 30. Thanks for the challenge!!
Hi everyone I hope you are all enjoying the challenge. I have just finished my first hub for the challenge, I missed my 12'o'clock deadline and only got a 45! But hey we live but to improve and it's has been a lot of fun. Good luck everyone, maybe tomorrow I'll get a 46!
I've published 3 hubpages now for the hubchallenge and it is going a little stress free than the previous hubchallenge, because I know I have only 30 hubpages and last time I managed 42 which was just 12 over 30, even though I tried for 100.
The idea I have is to get at least the 30 done and have around ten days to optimize the hubpages further and market them quite aggressively in a guerilla marketing style campaign before the 30 days is up, then the following month start a backlink strategy that will be massive with blog commenting, forum posting, article marketing and video marketing to name a few examples.
P.S big thanks to the Hup for mentioning us in the hub blog!!!
Absolutely! Its open and free for any hubber who wants to do it. Good Luck!
Well from what I have heard, its a challenge for each hubber in the challenge to publish at least 30 hubs in 30 days. If you dont make or if you go over, it doesnt matter, its just a fun event to connect the HubPages community. You can start whenever, most are starting today. Its easiest to publish a hub a day, in my opinion.
Any thing else I can help you with?
can i know what should be minimum length and on which kinda topics
I'd suggest a bare minimum of 300 words.
To be profitable, you need good content. Anything less than that and you can easily go unnoticed by search engines.
I'm aiming for around 700 words per hub.
thanks i will start it from tomorrow, i am feeling hazy right now. Do i need to register something or i can just kick off with my first hub from tomorrow.
Wow, Johnb....I'm most impressed with how helpful you're being to the newer hubbers by answering their questions! Way to go! I look forward to your first hub in the Challenge! I'm so glad you're doing it. It'll be awesome!
I didn't think I'd make today's start date, but I did! Would anyone like two teens and a grown man for the next 29 days so I can write???? LOL
Absolutely. But, in exchange can you take my 7 year old twins and my almost 10 year old? My daughter told me she's "sick of HubPages."
I'll take the man if you can home the teenagers.
Is the housetrained?
I am putting all my updates of my HubChallenge on Twitter but also on my website. Is there any rules to putting it on your own website?
No....post links, or blogs, or the widget capsule, or whatever you want on your own website. As you and I talked about outside this forum, the hashtag that was mentioned for Twitter postings is just a tool to help find all the Hub Challenge postings on Twitter. There is nothing similar for posting to your own website.
If you want people to know your progress, you could post it on your profile on HubPages even, I think I'm going to do that (like say what date I started and my progress) update it each time u do a Hub...hmmmm
That's a good idea, Richard. I did that last time. I posted my Hub Challenge hub links. I haven't done that yet, this go around. I should do that. Thanks for the reminder.
My official first day on Hubpages was July 5th and since then I published 19 hubs...I think that I can do this! I'll give it a shot!
Wow, Dohn121, you're doing fantastic! You're right, 30 in 30 is right up your alley! Welcome aboard! If you need help or have questions, holler!
Hello,
I'm not sure I can start the challenge right now, but it's a great idea to have an ongoing challenge so we can do it when we can. One question though - does it still count if you spread your 30 in 30 over two hub IDs?
Good luck to all those who are taking the challenge now.
Trish D.
Hi I posted my first in the early hours and am starting my next today. I am so glad so many people are up for the challenge. It's also nice to hear so many experienced people sharing there tip's it's very helpful.
Hello, i am an India and i would like to ask if i also qualifies for this challenge.
If yes then i am ready to have a go.
You most certainly qualify! Jump right in. Today can be your day number 1 of the 30 days, or if you'd like to start tomorrow, it's up to you. You pick when you start. Welcome aboard!
i am ready to have a go from today. I just want to ask that its difficult to get adsense account for indian people, so after completing this challenge what are my chances to getr selected for adsense.
I promise all my work would be original and good quality.
I started mine yesterday and I am working on my second one for today. I hope I can manage to keep it up

I write 5 hubs a day. 2 of them are quality hubs that I enjoy writing and put my most effort to, the rest are there to share some kind of information I think is interesting. But these are not as good and I actually struggle to write them. So how many of your hubs are you satisfied with?

I understand some people are worried about the "antiHubChallenge" or whatever it's called, and I just wanted to say something on a personal level to get my own thoughts out in the open about it. And this is my PERSONAL view - yes, we do have a HubChallenge team and we...

I have completed three 30 day HubChallenges. One in May, one in late July, and one during the calendar month of September. In all 3 cases, I published more than 30 hubs in 30 days. In fact, in the latest challenge I committed to publishing 45 and I did it. 45 hubs put me at...

I was pretty confident I could produce 100 hubs, and if I wasn't feeling the effects of burn out I still think I could do it. But right now, If I get to just 70 I'll be content (I'm at 51 now). I could quit all together and not feel bad, but I wanted to add as many as possible because I'm going to...

Are you in the midst of a Hub Challenge? Fantastic! Should you like to share the Hubs you have published as you continue along on your epic journey, share them here. Please do not post Hub links in other threads or start a new thread for individual Hubs. That makes things messy, and makes it harder...

I looked at my account, and I started hubbing on 8/22/09. I have 20 hubs, so far. I think I'll make it! I have until 9/22/09 to write ten more hubs. So, 10 more hubs to go in 8 days...and I don't want them to be trash, either...well, wish me luck! And GOOD LUCK to...
