The only rule is it's got to be featured.

What is your hub with the lowest hub score?

Just mention the score and the topic, not the title or URL. But do mention whatever else you feel like about it.

    Multiple entries allowed.

Prizes yet to be determined. Maybe the winner will be hugged by a Moderator, but don't count on it; travel expenses to be born by the recipient.

    I'll start.

Men's hats. Score 68. That actually is kind of high for me. I've had lower.

62 The hub is about using a new methodology when facilitating strategic planning. It premiered at 82 and then got pulled for being overly promotional...not sure why, but after editing out the side-bar capsules describing the concept in bullet form, it finally got put back on as a featured hub, gets traffic, but has a really low score...I had to dumb it down to be less promotional? and lost 20 points in the process. Not nearly as low as 18 though

My hub about how to delete Finally Fast software sits at 60 right now. It has the best traffic on this account so far, and also did the best on Squidoo. I don't really care, I'll take traffic over a high score any day.

I have a submission. My hub titled: Astrology Origins: The Brief History of Astrology and the score is 60. My hubpages account is mainly on astrology and I do realize that not everyone believes or cares about astrology (alot of people consider it bogus psuedo-science!!)  A lot of my other astrology hubs are not featured due to engagement (again astrology isn't really a popular topic!!!!). Anyway I do have other hubs on other topics (such as valentine's day, SEO tips) among other topics. I do notice that my highest scoring hub is Astrology and Money: Indicators of how can YOU make, gain and get MONEY? and its score is 92.

This contest will be a little skewed right now because of the grace period for Squidoo transfers.

Bizarrely, one of my freshly-transferred articles has a Hubscore of 18. It's on the terribly spammy topic of buoyancy, floatation and water displacement.

The bizarre thing is, it's one of my more educational articles! It includes two videos I made myself, with my own voice Explaining Things and some of my own doodles (plus public domain images) plus a science experiment I demonstrated in my own kitchen.

I'm not sure why this hub has received the Frowny Frown award; I've certainly written more junky ones. (And no, there's no affiliate links on the thing; the only warning it's got is a broken YouTube video that's wandered off, since I linked to some other educational stuff as well).

~ GG, who is not sure whether to post as Greekgeek when talking about my mythphile account but IT IS ME I am not a sock puppet I am a meat popsicle. O.o

I think you just blew this thread out of the water. lol

But not necessarily a bad thing. HP just might go take a look at that one to see what's up.

If others have similar hubs, maybe post them. Might be useful to HP.

I think I'm going to disqualify myself promptly, because it pains me that this is my lowest-scoring hub. For goodness' sake, if it were one of my old spammy lenses I wrote to promote Cafepress shops in 2007, I'd understand, but not this! It's got a rubber duck and a volcano. That should earn a score of 40, at least.

The rubber duck alone is worth 50; sometimes there's just no understanding things around here.

This is what the HP Forum rules are:
"Be honest about your identity. While we don't prohibit having more than one HubPages account, we ask that you stick to a single persona in the Forums."

Maybe it's time for you to pick a persona and stick with just one to post on the Forums. You just posted on another thread using a different account. Nobody else does this.

      1. Jayne Lancer profile image93
Jayne Lancerposted 8 years agoin reply to this

But is this 'deceptive use of multiple accounts'? And Mythphile has used only one identity on this thread.

"Multiple Accounts: While we don't prohibit having more than one HubPages account, we ask that you stick to a single persona in the forums. The deceptive use of multiple accounts, especially in a single thread is prohibited. The use of secondary accounts to circumvent a forum ban is also prohibited." http://hubpages.com/faq/#forums-violations

        1. Writer Fox profile image31
Writer Foxposted 8 years agoin reply to this

Note that the word 'Forums' is plural.  HP only wants us to use one Profile to post. You can refer to your other account names, but you should only post from one account and that is linked to the post.

          1. Jayne Lancer profile image93
Jayne Lancerposted 8 years agoin reply to this

Why are your words appearing in this comment as my words??? What are you trying to do???

            These are my words:

"But is this 'deceptive use of multiple accounts'? And Mythphile has used only one identity on this thread.

"Multiple Accounts: While we don't prohibit having more than one HubPages account, we ask that you stick to a single persona in the forums. The deceptive use of multiple accounts, especially in a single thread is prohibited. The use of secondary accounts to circumvent a forum ban is also prohibited." http://hubpages.com/faq/#forums-violations "

You might also have noticed that Relache sometimes appears in the forums as Schwarz. This is not prohibited unless done in order to deceive. And a user should always stick to the same persona in one thread.

If I had another identity, and wanted to comment in this thread on a hub I'd published under that identity, I'd obviously use that identity in this thread.

I also love the way you pick out only certain words from the rules in order to get a point across you'd like others to believe.

            1. relache profile image72

I posted just a couple times when I was having tech issues with my imported account and very clearly said who I was and why I was posting as a second persona.

I really liked how you picked out certain details about my situation in order to get a point across you'd like others to believe.

              1. Jayne Lancer profile image93
Jayne Lancerposted 8 years agoin reply to this

Actually, my intention wasn't to pick out certain details, it was just an observation (that you have appeared on the forums as Schwarz). Mythphile has also said clearly who she/he is.

I would like to add that I didn't intend to discedit you in any way. I used you as an example because you are probably the most well-known hubber, you've been here eight years, and are probably more familiar with the rules than anybody else.

Jayne Lancerposted 8 years agoin reply to this

As I interpret the rules; no, I would not, as long as I stick to the same persona throughout the thread in order not to confuse other posters, and am not using another identity in order to deceive.

Why have you decided to pick on Mythphile with this matter? There are others who post with alternative user names, especially those who have accumulated a new one through the Squidoo account transfers.

                1. mythphile profile image81
mythphileposted 8 years agoin reply to this

I feel like I shouldn't comment on this thread at all now, but since it's caused an uproar, I'm very sorry.

This thread was asking about which of our hubs had a low score.

The hub I volunteered for paradigmsearch's challenge is one of my Squidoo transfers. Therefore, it's a hub in this account, not my Greekgeek account. So I was confused about which profile to use. To observe the rule of not being deceptive, I was careful to explain this in my initial post, and to stick to one username in this thread, which is what I'd been publicly advised to do in the Hubpages forums just a week or so ago when this problem came up.

Obviously this was the wrong thing to do, and again, I apologize.

Now, please, can people get back to the topic of the thread? I didn't mean to derail it by my mistake!

Hello My name Jason Sositko, I have decided that from here on out, I am going post in the forum under this nearly 3 year old account. If that's against the rules, then is it what is. I guess I have just fallen on my sword.

Question: You don't find it uncomfortable playing the police person of HP, or being the resident SEO guru using a pseudonym and avatar?

I don't have an issue with people using those things, many of my best writer friends do, but I am not passing my self off as a bastion of moral certitude. Most people I associate with, who do hide their identity, don't moralize, and do not bait others the way you do, Just saying?

See... I know I'm not perfect, but anyone can Google me, and find out everything they want, warts and all. Now, I know you can't be perfect right? How about giving us a break?

Looks like you er, "win" seems like the completely wrong word here.

And yeah, the rubber duckie should be worth a 50.

And as for the names, she's using a second account, likely created because of the transfer, to talk about a page that's a former lens.  She's identified herself, she's been completely transparent about who she is, and there's been NO attempt to deceive anyone about anything.

I fail to see a problem here.

My poem hub about human nature and behavior is at 70, today; it has been lower. No matter how much I edit the title or other minor things, it stays consistently at the bottom. I must accept that it won't change due to low word count ( it's a poem, duh), it has no video (couldn't find one that fit), and the content is rather obscure. Cool beans. hmm

Jan if you want to add a video that fits. There is an Aussie "boy band" for want of a better word(they are mature men now) called "Human Nature" now based in LA. Their very name would make their videos suitable for your hub.

Jodah, I never hear you complain. I'm almost afraid to. Got a suspension in July and still not really sure why. I REALLY wish the administration people of HubPages were as helpful as you nice, experienced hubbers.
I like to think of myself as Lenny to your George in Steinbecks's "Of Mice And Men" and you pros "allow" me to tag along with you real authors.  You've given me reasons to perserver with your encouragement and advice on how to improve. Thank goodness for pros like you and a few others for their advice! I'm very grateful to you all.
The less I do complain, it seems the better my "ultimate score" gets. Although that one enormous rant I had a few months back seemed to make my score zoom up. I think it was because it gave me so much feedback, which I answered and lo and behold, it gave me a jump to Commentator II and an award as a favorite among commenting hubbers. I like to think my ranting is with a purpose and got through to the "graders."

My as yet unedited transfer from Squidoo, Spicy Pumpkin & Red Lentil Stew, is at 51 and holding. Can't get me no love for lentil stew.

Seriously, though, even my edited recipe lenses, with added color commentary, are struggling a bit. Most of them are very short, because I lean towards recipes that are "rake together these 12 ingredients, and throw them in the slow cooker" simple. Yesterday, I decided to experiment, and merged a couple of vegan bacon substitute recipes. It seems to be doing well so far.

Perhaps I have to go back into the kitchen, and find two more recipes that can be made with pumpkin and red lentils...

I feel very fortunate and honored that all 47 of my Hubs to date were Featured. That does not mean they all rated high Hub Scores, though! Two of my Hubs, ACWL: Union's Path To War - Those Who Volunteered and ACWL: Union Infantryman - Life on Campaign XII, are tied for my lowest Scores with 64 each. They barely squeak by two other Hubs of mine which earned Hub Scores of 65 each. A few others scored in the high 60's as well. I guess I got lucky that they were featured! :-)

Keep in mind, even established hubbers have to have an account for Squidoo transfer, which means if they have one account, 10 accounts at HP, HP has required them to open up another account for their Squidoo content.

I don't think that commenting will necessarily increase the score.  I have a hub that with a score of 61 and 0 comments whereas my hub with the lowest score of 56 has 10 comments.  The hub with 0 comments was published 14 months ago and the lower scoring hub was published 2 months ago.  I have to agree with HP on this one.  The lower scoring hub is a lesser quality hub, but I don't think that the higher scoring one deserves a score as low as 61.

I am new here at hub. One of my hubs has fallen and I have been very down about it. You have no idea how this thread has lifted my spirits. It is nice to know others are going through this too.  My hub is about Behavioral Issues. At the moment the score is at 57.

I think a lot of us were surprised by some of the numbers.

I had a Hub Score of 68 on one. It went viral, has over 2000 hits everyday for the past 2 weeks. I decided to ignore the score and never let it get me down. It's score is over 90 now, but even though it's good I don't care. I look at it like levels on Squidoo. In the end it didn't matter what level you were on.

I'm so sorry, I have to take back my submission.  My aggressive dog hub was at 35 and this prompted me to edit it which dropped it down to 34 this afternoon.  Just looked at it and it is at 82 now.  Hmmmmmm...just going to admit right here and now, this scoring thing, nope, I don't get it...

Three hubs at 59, and I readily concede 2 of them, but 59 for the Feral Cats hub?  Now really.  Who doesn't want to read about cats again?  This even has 3 original photos of OUR cat (used to be).  The hub isn't on what I think or how I feel about feral cats. Cats are a very popular YouTube search and even though feral cats are not ordinarily up to funny antics (they're too busy staying alive) cat lovers would find some interest in the topic.  Must be something I'm doing wrong…reckon?

Can someone explain how one hub can have more views and comments than another, but have a lower score? I don't understand how this works.

Oh for Pete's sake anyone with clarity can see that rule was written to keep people from pretending to be 2 different people and that wasn't the case here.  Mythphile I've so much respect for your knowledge and generosity that you can call yourself a lime green alien from Jupiter and I will listen.

Well, here's my lowest scoring hub coming in at 65, "A Guide To Understanding Musical Terms, Definitions and Meanings."

While I'm at it, any suggestions for a better, shorter title?

According to Google's autocomplete suggestions, people are searching for 'musical terms definitions'. So how about titling the hub 'Musical Terms and Definitions'?

    First things first: 68.

Perhaps the management team at HubPages should take a long look at this thread for confirmation of how meaningless Hub Scores actually are. I have been part of HubPages for just over two years, and the Hub Score appears to be (at best) a crude attempt to provide numerical data for something that should not necessarily be quantified in the first place. Can I join the movement to ask HubPages to get rid of these absurd and meaningless numbers? The one number that HubPages assigns each author is only slightly less confusing --- but it is also insulting at times and most definitely should be eliminated from the "public realm" that is seen by visiting readers.

When my Squidoo lenses made their recent journey to HubPages, the Hub Score mystery was enhanced even further. On four consecutive days, I saw the following range for my "new" Hubs:

    Day one: 46 to 55
    Day two: 42 to 57
    Day three: 57 to 74
    Day four: 68 to 86

What is even remotely helpful about fluctuating scores like that?
