No deep meaning. I like sparkles, and I didn't want a typical sparkley image on my profile, so I created one with what was available. I like the name sparkleyfinger
My username name is by my real name which means 'padmendra'. In deeper meaning , it means throne of king of GODs.. It is divided into two parts that is 'Padam' means Lotus and 'Indra' means the king of GODs.
'Greensleeves' is one of my favourite pieces of music. Being more than 400 years old, it has historical connections, it has a melody which has a tranquil, rural feel to it, and it comes from a folk music tradition in England - and history, the countryside and folk music all number among my interests, so the username seemed appropriate.
Finally, it is a word which is easy on the ear and quite memorable, just as 'Queen of Cups' is. I see that the questioner here has written a hub about her username and I've done the same with 'Greensleeves', exploring the history of the song and my association with it. I would suggest as a side issue that the inspiration for their username would make a good subject for any other hubber who is looking for ideas for a new hub.
DDE is my username and is the initials of my son, husband and of my name I feel it so simple and just an quick thought.
None...................................................................
Made it up a decade ago as an RPG name. Been using it online ever since.
It's my nickname which my friends gave to me.................
But, yours is really interesting. Do you have a liking for collecting different styles of cup?
It's actually referencing to a tarot card and how the first time I picked it up it chose me! ^.^
http://queenofcups.hubpages.com/hub/The-Queen-of-Cups
I always seem to be late on the uptake of hubs and forums.....by the time I get to them, usually, there have been pages and pages of comments from my favourite commentators, and I have been wondering where everyone has gone to!
Then I enter the conversation without bothering to check back on the theme; my first comment is then right off course, everyone blinks in surprise and I feel embarrassed.... once again.....just a jonnycomelately!.
Mine is my Eastern Elnu Abenaki name, wild dove! It describes my personality, Some times wild but with the grace of a dove!
Nice word picture, 'wild but with the grace of a dove.' I am interested in the 'Eastern Elnu Abenaki', to know more, and will check your profile...
I just gave my name itself as username suffixing 2012, the year I started associating with HP. Some of the famous Indian personalities have the same name like Sunil Gavaskar (Cricketer) Sunil Shetty (Bollywood Actor) and Sunil Shastry (son of former Indian Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri).
I wish I had a "deep" meaning to mine...mine just states who I am! First and foremost...a mommy. Even though I was in a demanding management career for years which kept me hard nosed and tough skinned...the minute I came home...that was gone and I was mommy.
A picture is worth a thousand words.
(The above answer was too short, but I don't think I need to elaborate.)
I have had this username for many years going way back into the late 1980's when I first discovered computers. I liken myself to be like the Lady Guinevere in the Camelot Legends and stories. I, too, sit on the fence between Organized Religion and that of the much older Pagan system. They both intertwine with each other many times. Guinevere was Christina but it was said that Arthur was Pagan and there you see the problems that Guinevere had. As Guinevere had to live in both sets of beliefs, I do too. Neither is right and neither is wrong. I had a hub written about all that but had to take it down because of the turn from good to really evil comments that I got calling me all kinds of awful names.
I enjoy the free thinking, honest tone and will check your profile, Lady Guinevere.
I'm sorry you had to experience the perverse side of our humanity. I hope it's much better now!
No deep meaning - We love free camping as we travel Australia . At the moment we are exploring Britain- Europe in a campervan and have only done free camping so far and having a great time !
starsofeight is short for seven stars of eight. that is to say Orion. Texts claim there are seven stars in the cluster, but I have seen more with my own two eyes.
Hmmm. . . . My name is Sid Kemp. My username is SidKemp.
I see two deeper meanings here.
First, I want you to know my name. Remember the musical "Fame"? Remember . . . Remember . . . Remember my Name!
Two, my company is Sid Kemp Enterprises. I want you to know that my team and I are here to serve you as you seek a better life for yourself and your loved ones.
Nothing really; I am a man and I bowhunt. Hence Mr Archer. The end.
The phrase "Christofer's Flow" was a self explanation, that my ideas and inspiration do come flowing out of me; sometimes unbidden, sometimes relentlessly, but always, like a mountain stream, a trickle, or a cascade, right there going into the lake of larger consciousness. It is also a plain statement that when one writes, one is expressing a style and timbre that is one's own unique way. Not God's truth, or the absolute truth or a committed philosophy, just what issues from my "pen" in a whole hearted and enthusiastic way to those out there who wish to read, and hopefully, enjoy.
This is just my given name and the 31202 portion is directional it refers to my zip code. There is not much more to it than that. I figured no one else would use it. Thanks for asking.
The Stages Of ME ~
Is my user name and it is in reference to I book I wrote about Faith in dealing with chronic issues. The ME is actually the plural WE as in the ME in all of us. I refer to the direction in life by God in all areas and the Grace given through Faith to accomplish all task. Good question, have a wonderful day.
Actually none. I needed to come up with something quickly..and my favorite numbers are 4 and 7 ..so I have four sevens. I also like having my name in the user name...
My username is based on my real name and an expensive champagne, but with a more unique and original spelling.
couldn't think of anything catchier.................................................
(Is catchier a real word?)
You've had a great response for this question. Mine is from an advert I watched when I was a teenager for Peanut butter would you believe! The slogan was 'It's peanutritious'! I thought it was a wonderful word and used it for my email address many years ago. Years on I still use it as my email address and thought i'd use it for my username too!
People call me 'Peanut' for short which I rather like! It sounds cute!
'HealthyMike' is my user name. It embodies what i write about and what i place so much premium on: health. I therefore feels my user name should be a true reflection of what i say in my hubs.
Ok -Well the BK stands for Brooklyn and it is often shortened this way. Then the creative - actually I was so inspired when I moved into this neighborhood 19 or so years ago. It was filled with creative people; successful artists, TV/movie stars, writers, comedians etc. I used to see Chris Rock all the time. So wanting to be part of this I added creative to the Bk thus BkCreative.
I really enjoyed the enthusiasm I heard in your description. I hope it's as enjoyable for you today as it was 19 years ago!
Kitty is my nickname and "the Dreamer" actually doesn't mean that I'm a daydreamer, it indicates the fact that I am an avid lucid dreamer and I actually have spiritual experiences through my dreams.
Sadly I showed no imagination with my username. When I joined WebAnswers (a few months before I discovered HubPages) I needed to come up with a name quickly. Gina is my real name, but most sites won't accept that as there are already other Ginas there. So I added the numbers, which are part of my date of birth.
I now use Gina145 on all the sites on which I write, but I've had problems at places like Twitter where it was already taken, so you may come across a Gina145 somewhere online who is actually a different person.
I feel inspired when I see so many people choosing meaningful user names. After all, we don't have the luxury of choosing our first names.
I am very passionate about names, but I often don't find the same interest from others. Names don't seem to matter until they becomes nicknames. We don't feel good when people call us names. But how names came into existence? We were called names - fat, tall, proud, brave...
I didn't create my nickname, it has found me, but because it had too many deep meanings and associations, it stuck forever. I may choose another first name, I may choose a pen name, but I cannot imagine changing my nickname.
When something fits you perfectly, like your skin, you don't change it (technically, skin is getting renewed, but it still remains yours and is alive as long as you live).
I wrote the story about my nickname:

HP does not like personal stories, but I think it is a matter of taste. I, for one, don't like profiles - I think profiles are like resumes - the most unimaginative writing!
I like your story! Am curious, what do you mean, 'HP does not like personal stories...'? Personally, I prefer reading personal stories. Anyone, sometimes it is good to writing something that is not everyone's taste. Just because it is yours.
The comment BOX is just too small for the explanation. HP would prefer something: 10 Best Baby Boy Names or Korean Baby Names or something very generic. But without meanings there are no names, only sounds. Without "Emanate Presence" story ...
I agree with Emanate Presence! I crave personal stories. In fact I seek them. I will go to your page and read some. Thank you for revealing a little about yourself!
HP doesn't like personal stories. HP doesn't know what people like. I wrote a personal story for my last hub and they toldme they didn't like it and that I had to re-write it and + something that everyone would like. I unpublished all but 10 hubs
Oh dear, most of my hubs are personal stories, I suppose that's why i'm not making much money! I couldn't write those generic sort of hubs, I need to care about what i'm writing and don't want to sell my soul.
My encouragement is to write from your heart. If HP prefers something else there are plenty who can provide it. But only you can offer a piece of your heart, and that may just be what another person needs.
Peace be with you!
What could be a better source of information for me to write about than my own personal experiences? My name? Sometimes IDONO ( I doe know) and sometimes IDONO ( I doo know ).
It is a wonderful question with the most intriguing and delightful answers, but ladies and gentlemen let me tell you this: if the number of comments will run too high, HP will close the question.
I wanted to use Powertothepeople, but that was already taken, so I used peoplepower73, because I want to inform people about socioeconomic issues that I have learned about and empower the people to make informed decisions. It gives me great satisfaction to know that I have turned on light bulbs in people's heads.
This was a great question. Thank you.
'Krillco'=Krill Company. Always had a vision of being independent in my career and money making endeavors.
I traced the history of my birth name back to its roots and found out it came from Theophany, which is actually still a word in the dictionary that means a visible manifestation of God. However I am not religious, I just liked the fact it was masculine which suited much of my writing better than my given female name...
The funny fact about names: since most of our names come from foreign lands, their meanings are not transparent. Theo+smth. is easier to recognize as a theophoric name than Michael or Daniel, but the principle is the same.
How ironic! Another translation of my name is Theophania! The roots to it anyway!
Well Theophania came from the male name Theophanes which came from Theophany. How 2,000ish years later this turned into Tiffany is a bit beyond me! (I fear I muddled things more when at 12 I started spelling my name Typhani. haha)
Haha, I can only guess but I think it is interesting the way things have connected.
There is nothing mysterious about the way words change - I listened to two courses in linguistics - there are laws of change and knowing them let linguists get from what is now to what was then.
Blond logic. I know sometimes people think it is an oxymoron. I love the fact I was born blond. I initially thought I would write tongue in cheek articles or about quirky things and at the time it seemed appropriate. I think it is catchy, don't you?
I think it is a good name. Reason 1: if it gets a reaction, it will stick in memory (like dressing to get attention). 2. Being blond is being rare - blond hair colour is disappearing due to genetics and environment. Enjoy being YOU!
Good question, Queen of Cups, and a lot of fun and interesting answers.
I remember reading about the deeper meaning of your username and enjoyed getting to know you some through your description.
I have mentioned in other places that my username came from a dream - vision in the night. The words were spoken, 'Rather than Exert Power, Emanate Presence.'
The saying was still strong when I awakened in the morning.
My first username on the internet was Vision River. It was like an alternate identity. I even looked into legally changing my name to V. Sean River! I remember having checks printed with Vision River at the top, and a clerk saying, 'Thank you, Mr. River.' It suited me.
Vision River was confirmed and made more potent to me by the inner voice. I was working in a corporate mailroom, and on my time editing a book called Vision River Guide, for online and print. I had come to the name through serendipity, by trying out various combinations until I hit upon one I liked.
As I pushed a mail-cart through six floors of hallways, I thought about Vision River Guide, 'This is so big, so much for one person. How will I ever do it all?'
My next thought, as I went into the men's room, was 'I trust the River.'
That meant to me the flow of life, of the Universe.
And then, standing at the urinal, I heard clearly the inner voice. It came from a deeper place than my 'ordinary' thought. It was from a place of knowing. It said, 'I *am* the River.' The humor was in the profound sense of the words which were spoken from that sacred space, while peeing. I was so moved I wept for joy. I just did not want to leave the place where the voice came from. It was a connection to the greater reality for me, for many years.
The new username came when I wasn't thinking about it, just in the right moment. Kati told me recently that she also identifies with Emanate Presence. That makes it especially meaningful to me.
“Invention consists in avoiding the constructing of useless contraptions and in constructing the useful combinations which are in infinite minority. To invent is to discern, to choose.” Henri Poincare
Wow, to be at one with the flow of the Universe while standing in front of a urinal. No wonder your name is Emanate Pee! (Sorry, please laugh with me LOL)
Though it may be rude I had laughed as well! Said in such a simple way! I must admit that being in the restroom does have its perks though! XD I find it a good place to think...
Since you guys all laugh at it - I did not want to draw attention to it - but there was one guy who told me once that it is in the moments of Peeing and P... we experience the true moments of trance and clarity. Then I started paying attention.
Dear Emanate,
This is one of the most interestingly humorous stories I've ever read. Though I do not know you well, there has been enough correspondence between us for me to know how deeply intuitive and alive you are. So fascinating! U touched me!
Um, I selected my user name, because it is my name. If there is any deeper meaning comes from HubPages. They have assigned my unique user name to represent everything associated with my account.Pretty bland? It's tough to be a Vulcan.
This is a great question and looking through everyone's responses has been fascinating. I decided on alifeofdesign because when I began writing for Hubpages, I did so to develop my writing skills. Each step in my career has been constructed keeping my main goals in mind..step 1, step 2, step 3...In addition, my career revolves around several creative (design) fields. Creativity is very important to me and make ever attempt to further my creative pursuits to better my life.
tupai is my nickname. It is in Malaysia language. The meaning of tupai is squirrel as the first character of my Chinese name is the same as the first character of squirrel in Chinese. My classmate, durian (his nickname) named me with that. All our classmates have nicknames, that is the trend.
liftandsoar - my family name is Crane. Crane's lift and crane's fly or soar. There's also a Crane toilet, but we won't go there. I thought of liftandsoarandflush, but only for a second. :-)
Also Isaiah 40:31 say "they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles."
I pray my life will be used of God to renew others' strength (lift) and cause them to enjoy and thrill in the grace of God (soar).
I'm sure your life has done exactly that! Anyone who desires to serve, shall in fact, do as they will.
Nothing really deep. It's an abbreviation of Pete and Ali (mine and my wife's names - Peter and Alison). Although I am the one who is one Hubpages, everything I do has my wife's thumbprint on it, for it's my life with her that has shapened who I am today. Great quests!
A good man is one who knows that value of the input of his loved ones into his life! Well said, too!
The deep meaning of my username =how to be a success= is my desire to be successful someday.
Although I was born physically in 1952, I began to become aware of a different calling on my life. 2001 is when I realized I was born to care for others as well as myself and it is my great pleasure to say that my dreams began to emerge and be realized at about the same time. Coincidental? Not in my opinion. I admit to being a slow learner, but I'm grateful I got it at all. It's about knowing and being aware that there is more to life than we know.
This was a wonderful question! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading so many of the answers! Thank you!
Apostle is my calling to bring certain gifts to the table concerning the unknown, the unseen and the hidden knowledge of life.
Hey, well that's a good name, the Jack part too.
What's going on in Atlanta? I mean, other than the Braves are winning 7-3 at the moment.
Thanks for the comment. It is all real, nothing made-up nor false in presentation. Sports is not one of my pass time habit's.I am an Artist,
among other achievements. That is whats going on in my life. I write poetry and philosophy. I am also a teacher
I grew up in a religion that taught me a lot about positive living, but the price for that was it also had a lot of restrictions. As a result, I want to use my site to promote what people CAN do to live a healthy and wholesome life. I was going to name it "Just Say Yes" (as opposed to "Just say no to drugs), but that was already taken, so I named it "Say Yes To Life".

This may have been an earlier thread. oh wells...Drej is the character name I use in many of my short stories, comics, and novels. What can I use for a username on Reddit? When I pick a username for Reddit, can I use my real name or should it be a cute/anonymous name so no one knows my real identity?
