I Like having FUN -But, how ...does one   DEFINE   'fun'? -Here on Hub Pages, is my first concerted attempt to write something from a centralized public forum, litterally a "hub" of written activities.  - And Maybe share a few projects and topics of interest.  I do have a sense of humor that manifests in a dry-ish manner and you may or may not realize my tongue is firmly within cheek at times.  I hope I create something that is edutainment here on the Hub' for you all.

A large part of my background is science / technology.   I take special personal interest in matters of chemistry, biology and physiology and anatomy, nutrition and exercise.  I may as well throw in Anthropology and Magnetohydrodynamics...  In the early 90's I worked for Brookhaven National Labs on their particle accelerators, (which you use a Heavy Hammer on more than you'd think.) -and In the late 90's I worked in information technology until '03 when my company closed it's doors, and told us "Get Out and Good Luck".  I DO also have a certain hands-on "Manly" side, so I "opened my mind" to try something different.  I took a stroll down "Blue Collar lane" where I was able to do many different traditionally "Manly" and "earthy" things.  Like shovel dirt and gravel.  And hold a Jackhammer until my hands bled.

I have always had a connection to nature.  As a young science lover, I'd be up late at night reading, and I'd go outside and stare at the stars, while considering our Living Universe.  Or, I'd pack a lunch, grab a book on Astronomy, and disappear into the deciduous forests of Northern New York, find a gargantuan Elm or perhaps a Whispering Pine Tree, sit... read... and think profound thoughts of cosmology (...and/or spoonerisms).

You Are. What you Do. When it Counts.                                                                 CARE for the hearts that trust and need you.                                                     Steve Richards
