    what makes a poem, a poem?
    people tell me occasionaly I write good poetry, and I have never once tried to write a poem, outside of school. I got D- or F in english, they said I was doing it wrong. Not following "the rules" so...maybe Im a poet? I dont think so really. maybe...

    I am a poet of sorts. I write when the mood strikes. like right now. what a long day it's been. I look to the summers of youth, and freedom. the days of little green apples.so tart on the tongue yet hard on the backside. forbidden fruit of grandmas rule. A slickerd salt shacker, and pine hangin low. a retreat for the youngmans sole. so long it's been. to return.. a dream. such a simple thing. little green apples to ease my days.

    You'd best check out my poetry while you have a chance.  it's Saturday night--a weekend night--and I have just had my first hub--Poetic License--checked.  The ads were disabled.  I am not sure why but it happened.
    I was not aware that HP was making enough money to pay people to work on the weekends. Wow!  I guess you people with affiliate accounts must be getting a nice percentage, too!
    I hope nothing else happens.  I am not trying to cause trouble.  I have not even been flagged once yet, for the record and I am told that no one gets shut down for just ONE mistake so hopefully everything will be okay!
    I enjoy having another outlet here!

       I am no expert but I think your hubscore or whatever has to be over 75 or something before ads appear - your low score, if you only have one hub, would indicate that you don't have enough words in your hub or something, try putting in a few pics and expanding the writing a bit maybe.

    I'm gradually posting all the poems I can find from my adolecence to more currently. Some got kinda dark, but I was a teen and going through difficult times in my life. I still write when I can't find other means of self expression.

    Last night, or early this morning, I posted a hub called "Poetry Resource". On it I list some great web-sites that list Poetry contests and such.
    
    I am not meaning to be overly promotional, but after reading some of the poetry of people that have listed here, I thought some might like to submit their work in a professional literary journal. Just saying!
