ripplemaker on HubPages
A ripplemaker is someone who creates ripples knowing that every thought, feeling, word or deed has an impact to the lives of others. As often as possible, I try to ask myself, what ripples am I making or sharing at this moment?
Dentist turned educator, I found my passion in running Dynamic Minds Learning House, a preschool for kids ages 2 to 6. (This change of career happened ten years ago.) Together with my best friend Stella, we discovered we could create ripples of joy when we help a child read, wait for his turn, discover their talents, coax the shy ones to shine and allow the kids to discover what kind of wings they have and allow them to fly.
I was once wounded in mind, emotions, body and spirit. And in my journey to healing I found great treasures: The tender loving Father, my God; friends and friendships; healing of the inner child; meditation and yoga; the wonder of positive affrimations, the value of one's dreams; the love for the self; acts of service, miracles, universal truths and pure love, among others.
And the amazing thing of it all, I discovered I had a gift on healing! In a bright, peaceful light, all of the puzzles suddenly fitted together as I discovered my purpose in life. Together with a dear friend and sister in community, Daisy and I are embarking on this new adventure on becoming "healers," using the gift as often as we can...and when we are needed.
When I am not so serious :-) I love to hop and skip and giggle with the kids (the kids energy rubs off on you.) I like making them laugh with my puppet shows and antics. I sing, dance, act, write, take pictures, concoct breakfast menus, play with my nephew, watch inspirational, funny or mushy movies.
The latest musical play or production I am involved with was Siddhartha: A Musical Journey to Enlightenment.
Am I always spreading positive ripples? Nah, I am very much human like you. I have my "bad" days when I can be a mean and cranky monster who doesn't know any better. I fall, make mistakes, cry myself to sleep and wish bad guys would turn into frogs.
But for the most parts, I now believe that there is perfection in the imperfection. And I begin to see my perspective change. "We are all angels with one wing and we can fly embracing each other." May we be ripplemakers in little and big ways. I pray you choose a path that brings you joy and love. I am glad to be journeying with you. Be blessed.
